1. [TMG-L:] Re: TMG-L: Internal Image Exhibit Problem [1]
Dear Janet: I found the same, and discovered that there are various catagories of .tif to contend with. Some of them will not display in TMG, (ones I have created in Photoshop, for example), so use .jpg instead. rondie At 09:59 PM 4/24/2000 -0400, you wrote: >Dear List: > >I am trying to attach a .tif file as an internal exhibit. I have this situation in my database. I show her maiden name and married name just as if they were different. She is then listed under the proper surname in my picklist both as an unmarried and a married person, and looking at her person page, I can plainly see that there is no mistake, her maiden and married names are identical. rondie At 10:47 PM 4/19/2000 -0700, you wrote: >What do you folks do, then when a woman marries her cousin and, thus, both >her birth-given surname and her married name are the
3. Re: TMG-L: another comma problem [0.97047]
John, Well, without revealing when this was, and whether you or I were fully awake, I will do the same. One principle is, "noun of direct address". This means someone's proper name. Example of what I learned: I spoke to my friend, John O'Neall about comma usage. Note the comma is before the "noda" not after. The use of this comma requires more than just someone's name in a sentence. The usage must be 'direct address'. A sentence such as: 'The leaders of the group were John Smith and Carrie Nation' -

5. TMG-L: What happened to Repository Addresses? [0.97047]
Hi, List. I've been here for a few months and found lots of help, although for the most part I've been a lurker. Now, however, I need to ask for some more help. I have been cleaning up all of my sources since importing my FTM file of 8000+ people. I printed out a List of Sources (bibliographic format) so I could see what needed to be cleaned up. No problem. I made the corrections and still everything was OK. I then added about 20 "new" sources that hadn't been entered in my old data set. I thought e
6. [TMG-L:] TMG-L: Font Problems [0.97047]
I too have many more fonts than TMG "allows" but I found a workable solution for myself until the new version comes out. I just changed my report fonts to Arial and haven't had any more trouble. I might still have trouble if I were changing my font folder but I don't do that generally. My reports were set to Times New Roman and when I changed them to Arial they were fine. As far as I can tell I have to change each report individually. I haven't found (that doesn't mean there isn't any) any way to global

Susanne, You are more than welcome. By the way, I use the following sentence for my SourceNote tag, for both the regular and witness sentences: [:CR:][:CR:][:TAB:][ITAL:]Source Note:[:ITAL][M] The two CR codes and the tab cause the note to print as a separate paragraph. The ITAL codes around the phrase Source Note cause it to be printed in italics. Then the [M] just prints the memo field. When I type text in the memo field, it there is more than one paragraph I try to remember to add a blank line and a

My old genealogy program required you to capitalize surnames to get them to print that way on reports. Since I've converted to TMG, I've been slowly changing them to lower case as I bump into them, but I'm growing a little frustrated chasing all the CAPS out of my database. Hello folks, I'm going to throw in my two cents worth and side with Brian and John. When I record a source it is for my benefit so that I know where I got the information. I try to record enough detail so that two or twenty years from now I will know where the information came from. Secondarily I try to make it clear for anyone reading my files. My methods may not fit the requirements of the blue hairs in the biddy room of the GGGS (Great Grand Genealogy Society) but I don't care. My hobby is genealog

21. TMG-L: CRW - tmg.ini setting for time delay? Bob Velke? [0.97047]
I noticed when running a List of Citations report (with destingation = screen) that there is a built in time delay of about 13 seconds between running the report (step 1 "Filter Progress" returns the number of citations) and displaying the report on the screen (step 2). I know I can push "enter" and move on to the next step, but: Is there a setting I can enter in tmg.ini to shorten the time delay?
