1. [TMG] Census Images [1]
With more and more actual census images online, I am wondering what is the best way to cite these sources. Use the normal sequence - minus the film number - then add available an Ancestry.com or genealogylibrary.com? Any suggestions? 3. [TMG] Newbie question [1]
I apologize in advance if my question has been already answered. I would like to create a second database from certain individuals in my database (descendants of certain individual). I have looked but can't find a way to select individuals of a certain individual and save in a new database. Can anyone help me with this problem. 5. [TMG] Gedcom Import and Export Questions [0.969129]
I have two problems - I am sure there's a quick answer to the Gedcom export problem, and hopefully one of the experts will have a solution for the Gedcom import problem. Gecom Export - I am trying to export database into Gecom 5.5. Although I have checked the box "suppress information for living individuals," the birthdates and birthplace for living individuals still appear in the Gedcom file. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Gedcom Import - I received a Gedcom file which I imported into TM

Since they are for events you actually attended you can always add yourself as a witness and verify that proposed event actually happened (or did not) in a memo. carolm CheasaG@cs.com wrote: > In a message dated 12/23/00 3:09:47 PM Central Standard Time, > harger43@earthlink.net writes: > > << Aren't these really notices of things that are "suppose" to happen? 8. [TMG] Printing a list of marriage dates [0.969129]
How can I print a list of marriage dates of the people in my dataset? I finally got a list of birthdays that was close to what I wanted and that I could finish sorting between WordPerfect and QuattroPro into the exact form that I was looking for. I'm making a calendar for my mother and I don't want to have to look up each couple individually. I'd like it to list everyone in my dataset who is married, even if they aren't going on my calendar. I just have not been able to find the "marriage" under an

10. [TMG] Scared of TMG [0.969129]
I have been using FTM and have not liked the way it prints out reports and imports GEDCOMs. I had ordered TMG and I subscribed to this list immediately to see the queries being asked. I have not received it yet and Now I think I have probably gotten a program that is way over my head. I had heard it was one of the best on the market but it really sounds like it is complicated. Have enjoyed watching all of the answers. You people are great. Sharon

Dan, maybe you have 'Primary' selected under Options 2 - EVENTS? (top centre of the screen, not Tag Types). This is what Paul meant. If so, try All Variations or All Plus Witnessed. I've noticed that several UFTers are still using both programs as I am. UFT is my soft well worn security blanket but I'm catching on to the main concepts of TMG. My question is to those using both. How are you entering your information to make sure it is in both programs and not ending up with some different new things. This is not a technical question but a personal organizational one. Peg

Beyond the capabilities of any scanner you'll find on a store shelf. Are you trying to scan a single frame into a still photo? Or making a digital movie file? Check with a local photo store re: the costs. scanner that could do this would be in the many thousands of dollar range. LEE http://home.earthlink.net/~lkreider/

If that were the only use, you would be right. Sometimes though the convienience of having the equipment is worth something. It would be great in cemeteries. And as equipment gets better, it is just a good way of doing all round photography. I don't have one yet, because the cost/quality curve has not quite intesected my cash curve. ;-) -----Original Message----- From: Bill Reque [mailto:reque@ix.netcom.com] Sent: Sunday, December 31, 2000 8:29 AM To: TMG-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TMG] Digital cameras

What tag did you use? If you use the standard Adoption event type tag, it allows one principal (only), the date, full location information, etc. Put the adoptive father as a witness and you'll probably have what you want.
