You can do that now, and I do. Once they are cleaned up and ready to go, I deactivate them. If I need to use them again, I go to MORE mode and there they all are. If you are creative in naming them however it doesn't really matter. Need to see a deed source, type D and it will take you to all my sources that are deeds, because they start with Deed-Jim Johns to Sally Smith, or Deed-Sally Smith to Benjamin Adams. 10. RE: [TMG] Wish List: Date Field in Source Entry [1]
Doreen, You could put it in the Citation Detail. Using F3 would speed up the process some. Don't think I would use it all that much and wouldn't want it to print, but you could certainly do it that way. I don't think you would want it to be part of the source definition because you might use that source for several days, or you might come back to that source years later and see new information. Just a repeat in case someone can make a suggestion that will help, ignore if you've seen it already .... Still can't get into TMG, have tried to reindex, reboot, dropped the darned thing on the floor with no luck. I haven't heard back yet from WG support. Anyone have a suggestion on how to get TMG running for me again? Should I wait for WG support to get back to me, or just try to uninstall/reinstall? I have a backup copy of my projects, so no real harm done. Cheers, Bobbie > Tried to open TMG v5.11 thi

Man that really removed the clutter from the screen. Teresa, Do you remember I only recently discovered that you could set a Timeline using the LOP, a feature I had never noticed in 4.0d? I think it is because TMG is so feature rich, there's always something new to learn. I use tag filtering a lot when I'm working on Censuses

Yes, Terry, the Short footnote template is different: [SHORT TITLE]<, [PAGE]><, [CD]>. I had used this source for the marriage bond and the marriage itself (since both dates were on it). I was irritated by the "ibid" but decided to ignore it....... However, the missing parenthesis seems to have fixed the problem........which leaves me with the question of what use are CD2-3-4 etc.? How do people - and why do people - use them? Carol C. ---------------------- <<<< I don't think the template yo
19. Re: [TMG] Replies to messages [1]
It also depends on our individual mail systems and on whether we receive the list by individual item or by digest mode. In my case (Outlook Express, digest mode by preference) some of these options just don't work. For instance, I'd like to delete some of the quoted-back thread to just quote the most recent message, but when I do that it deletes everything or deletes odds bits and pieces but doesn't do what I wanted. (With ordinary email, not coming from the list, I have no problem doing these things.)

22. RE: [TMG] 5.11 Box Chart with accents [1]
Lee, Did some more testing (about 90,000 of them). Think I've got this scenario nailed down...maybe. The reason my accent definition in the box chart is defaulting to conflict color instead of first matching (like the sample)is that I've got my PV displaying with an accent scheme using conflict colors. If I change my PV to first matching, the report definition defaults to first matching. If I change the report definition to conflict colors, it's fine. But if the PV is displaying conflict colors, the cha

I am intrigued by the possibilites of using an alternate language, especially Theresa Ghee Elliot's Tabular Language to denote research tags. I have also read Terry Reigel's TMG Tips on Alternate languages but am still in a quandry as to how to begin. I was hoping that either Theresa or Terry, or someone else who has tried creating a customized language, give those of us who are definitely not as adept at understanding this wonderful program, some pointers as to how to begin... where to begin... etc. Ther

I don't like either one especially for Canadian Church Records. Whether the records were copied by the NSARM (PANS) or National Archives of Canada and whether I get the film from NSARM or NAC or the FHL, I want the church to be the source. So I made this source template with full footnote: <[COMPILER]> [TITLE]<: [CD]><, ([DATE])><, [COMMENTS]> <, [REPOSITORY]> <, [REPOSITORY ADDRESS]> I can enter anything I want requireing only a title such as "The Records of the Dutch Reformed Church of Lunenburg, NS"
