Ray I believe that anyone who purchased TMG within 90 days of the release of a new version can upgrade to the new version for free. 5. RE: [TMG] Keeping both version 5 and 6? [1]
Obviously, if you say it won't work, it won't. Just as obviously, i stand by my judgement that a program that won't allow two full--not upgraded--different versions of a programs to run on the same computer is poor programming. In the past, when reviewing programs for various computer magazines, I often had to run two versions of a program on my machine--my own earlier version and the one being tested. If the program didn't do this, it didn't get reviewed. I currently have two versions of Quickbooks; two o

9. [TMG] TMG-6 Memo Screen font size [1]
I'm using TMG-6 Gold, having upgraded from v .5.15 I'm running WinXP Pro. Tag-Memo Window. When I open up a tag memo window, the screen font is too small. Output to printer is normal. I don't see any way to change the screen font size within the Memo window. John. John Gregson Dawson Creek,BC jfgregson@shaw.ca

Hello All, I understand that bio and ste children cannot be entered in the same family with the bio parents. But how big of a problem is it to solve this problem so they( can) be entered side by side in the same family.Surely someone can overcome this glitch in the program. After all a child adopted at 1 year old is a member of the family. Wayne
12. name-style default bug still present in TMG 6.0 [1]
Unfortunately, the name-style problem that I had with v.5.15 is still a problem with 6.0. I can create a new name style and set it as a default, but it won't appear as a default and has to be manually switched to. I lost the ability to set it to default around v. 5.09 or so. So far, I haven't run into the grey-out bug yet, and hopefully that has been fixed.

15. Re: [TMG] TMG 6 and DNA [1]
Hi Bob, Thanks for the explanation. There is certainly no rush on this (my DNA isn't changing). For mtDNA, I believe the labs all test HVR1 and HVR2, except for Oxford Ancestors, which only does a portion of HVR1. But the template could be the same for all, I would think. They all report the values as 'mutations' from the Cambridge Reference Sequence. For example, this is how mine looks: HVR1: 16254G, 16311C, 16519C HVR2: 263G, 315.1C So the template would just be like the above, with 10 or so bu

Since I don't think they will be updating I want to keep just their data set on 5.15 and update my own to 6. I do research for them and send updates to them periodically.
17. Excessive time to create a Journal Report [1]
I started creating an ancestor Journal report last nite about midnite. It's now 14 hours later and the report still hasn't finished. To cover the obvious, I'm running a 1.5 Ghz Athalon, 512 MB of memory and have over 50 GB of free disk space. There have been no other programs or processes running for the majority of that 14 hours and the TMG application has been using 95% plus of the CPU. The dataset the report is using contains about 27,000 people but this report involves only about 4000 of those

19. TMG 6 re GEDCOM and other questions [1]
Have the reports changed in TMG 6? One reason I've continued to enter my data in TMG 4.0d is that I have many reports that quickly give me answers to almost everything in my data. I've continued to enter my data into 4.0d and then copy the data file into 5.x. I've tried some of the 5.x reports, but don't find them as easy as 4.0d--probably because I'm so used to the old program! In 4.0d the GEDCOM report can be adapted for various situations--though I find that I use the other programs less a
