Hi Harvey, >> The use of a third party database with an external shell leads to abnormal usage of memory ALL 'real' databases are used with external shells. Dear Teresa, You said: "I, basically use head of household in the full citation for the same reason I do most of my research in Rutherford County, TN. My dang family can't get out. So on a basic census page with 20 families listed, I will cite at least 12 of them. Please, I got no answers to my question about the Comment and Detail portions of the Master Place List. Does anyone know the answer? Have included full thread, in case no one remembers what it was about. Am currently trying to clean up about 3,000 (literally) postings from TMG-L, because my computer was off-line for about a month (talk about the DTs!!). Thanks in advance for any help someone can give on this Place question. Doreen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doreen & Peter Neilley"

8. Re: [TMG] Import problems [1]
Gary, The NOTE is a long note using 'tagged notes' which is a PAF convention to structure notes. I would think that this would import. Note the following: 2 CONT Birth certificate lists name of mother as Esther Casey Burke... this is 2 CONC an error In other words, three lines beginning as: 2 CONT is 2 CONC In the GEDCOM, is the 'is' on its own line or was this an email artifact? Once I cleaned these up and addded a 0 TRLR, your fragment imported with the entire note into one TMG Note tag. I thought th

In an Ahnentafel, each person is given a number. The subject's number is 1. To find a person's father, double that person's number. To find a person's mother, double that person's number and add one. 11. [TMG] v5.04 Printing Dates in Sentences [1]
I would wish to be able to have the following in a sentence: John Smith was born in 1775. or John Smith was born in March 1775 or John Smith was born on 24 March 1775 currently I get John Smith was born on 1775 etc. which doesn't look quite right. Is there an option to select the word 'in' when an incomplete date is all that is known? Kind Regards... Martin Jackson in a sunny Perthshire, Bonnie Scotland. 23. Re: [TMG] Tip of the Day - Editing Tags While Viewing IN [1]
Jeff, This is a great idea. I'm new to TMG and I think it would have taken me quite a few months more for the lightbulb to go off in my head on my own. I am using INs on a daily basis, just about, and this will streamline the process greatly. Of course, it would be nice to not have to close the IN and regenerate it every time a change is made . . . but from an amateur programmer's point of view, I can't imagine how that could be done.
