1. Re: [TMG] 2 computers [1]
Here's what I did when I was using two computers to input to the same database: Put your database in a secure place on line. Before inputting with either computer, download the database and input to it. Upload again at the end of each session. That way all the added material will always be in the database. Jim I've posted some screen shots on the forum as I can easily reproduce this. But as I say, it's hardly a major, just a quirk. 3. RE: [TMG] Sentence question [1]
Hi John, Yes, after I created a couple of sentences in my new language, the language appeared as an option in TMG Utility. I'd already read the help info on your site, and changed the 2ndsite.ini to include my language, so I am good there. 7. Saved Layouts and Toolbard [1]
I carefully saved my complete backup files and restored them when my laptop came back from repair. But the layouts and toolbars weren't restored. I know they used to be saved differently but since it asks if I want to back them up in the backup dialogs I assumed they were now saved with the backup. What should I be saving so I don't have to set it up next computer problem? Cheryl
8. What to do about cousins marring??? [1]
My 4th great grandparents were 1st cousins. When I create an ancestry Journal report everything is great until I get to my 6th great grandparents - than every ancestor prints twice along with all their information. Is their away to prevent this? Thank you for your help, Kathie
9. Ancestor Journal BMDB Abbreviations Use? [1]
In a Journal Report, ancestor direction, TMG 6.07 seems to make no change in the report when the BMDB option on the Tags tab is set to "b. 1861" or "born 1861". Full sentences are apparently used everywhere where BMDB information is given. For the descendant direction the abbreviations apply to those children in the list of children who are carried forward (ref: Terry's response to my post on 14 Feb 2006). Do these abbreviation options have a function in the ancestor direction? If not, shouldn't they be

11. Statement of childlessness [1]
In a journal report, when there are no children linked to a couple, the journal report includes a statement that they had no children (or no "known" children if you select that option). How do I supress this statement? In most cases the couple actually did have children but I'm just not recording them because they are not in a line I'm following any further. http://tmg.reigelridge.com/AlphaIndex.htm Thanks to everyone who has suggested this site- I'm just reading through it now and it's exactly what I was looking for! Things are slowly starting to make sense. I have 2 notebooks and 2 folders of information to put on the programme and for the past four hours I have been staring at page one of notebook one and not getting anywhere. I wonder why TMG don't produce a basic guide like this, it would be so much more helpful, although I'm sure once I've grasped

I put cause of death in the memo also as the last item and a separate sentence. Assuming that it is extremely rare that you would have an output sentence that is "He died.", perhaps you could always make sure that you include a circa (or between) date IF you decide to use the tag. If that is the case perhaps a reordering of the sentence gets you where you want to be... He died between 1909 and 1920, of tuberculosis. Would be [P] died< [D]><, [M1]>. (I didn't put in the rest of the variables.) I have n

When Godfrey made the announcement a couple of months back, one place that started to find alternatives was Dick Eastman's Encyclopedia of Genealogy. A page devoted to HeritageQuest, with remote access was set up. There are quite a few libraries that have access, but there are gaps. You usually need to be a member/library card holder to gain access. Most libraries require that you apply in person. There are several gen. societies that include remote access in their membership benefits. Explore & see wha
25. RE: [TMG] Wishful thinking list [1]
Lee, I think what you would do is have a tag similar to a relationship tag that would link individuals. If a person was linked to Bob Jones via this tag, then they would show in the window. I don't think it should be created because of a certain tag, like census, but rather the user would need to create the residence relationship tag. I wouldn't want children and spouses in this window, just other people who lived in the household. When I created the census tag and realized that Sarah Smith was living
