5. RE: [TMG] Add person icon file? [0.969193]
I am mostly lurking on this list but did report this problem several months ago. The add person button worked fine for me until one day and since then always grays out. It doesn't seem to matter what I do. Actually I have stopped even trying it, even since converting to the new version, although in response to this thread I tried it and the same thing happened. I would prefer to use the button!!!!! After reading these posts I tried Ed's suggestion. The window appeared. Now if I click the button it works

9. v6 Wishlist add names like add witness [0.969193]
Like Teresa, I prefer to record and show the name a document used. Wouldn't it be great if when entering data from the document into a tag that you could also add the appropriate name tag at the same time, instead of closing the tag, adding the name, then going back in to pick the correct name? (Yes, I know forethought and adding the name first would be the sensible way to go but I keep forgetting to do so.) Lorna McIntosh Waikanae, NZ
10. invisible ink [0.969193]
Intriguing occurrence in filters with parameters. Can anyone replicate this? I've a filter that asks for a parameter for surname contains x And (any event place contains y or any witnessed event place contains y) The input screen for the parameters accepts my input happily enough, but only the 1st letter of the place parameters is shown whilst I'm typing, the rest becoming visible later. Very disconcerting. I also notice that the brackets are only indicated by recessed boxes as opposed to the actual symb

15. RE: [TMG] bookmark manager, now extra steps involved? [0.969193]
Nope Terry, definitely clicking on the name in the box in the toolbar. A reboot didn't change this behaviour, which is a darn nuisance, taking away most of the benefit of quick access to me. Clicking on the bookmark manager icon opens the manager, ie add, delete, move up/down Clicking on the name in the toolbar produces exactly the same result as clicking on the down arrow to the left of the name in the toolbar. 16. RE: [TMG] 17" monitor and TMG [0.969193]
Not sure if the use of two monitors has been covered - Most modern graphics cards support TWO monitors. I saw 17" LCD monitors here in Oz for $450 today so US must be very cheap. TMG across two such monitors is AWESOME - but you can also have TMG on one and other documents on the other. If you are really keen a second PCI graphics card can be added to the PC and a third monitor used - this will normally be restricted to 1024 X 768 but is useful for source documents or to watch your email client. 17. RE: [TMG] Individual Narrative issues [0.969193]
Thanks everyone, again, you are all so helpful. I will have 2 projects running - one for my family and one for my boyfriend's. Possibly a third, if I decide to keep his stepfather's line separate. So that is why I wanted to be able to have tags that would be in all projects automatically. However, it won't be that hard to add any custom tags to all projects, I would just need to consistently do it. Jim, I'm running the Gold Edition in Advanced Mode. The data set is not locked ("unlock" button is greyed out in the Data Set Manager window.). One more thing: Near the top of the "Source Types" window it says: "Source Categories: Evidence (E. S. Mills)", even though in Preferences \ New Project Defaults, the Source Categories window shows "Custom." 19. OT--Time for TMG [0.969193]
I have one addiction: Spider Solitaire that comes with Windows XP. I spent so much time playing it--time I should have been entering data into TMG--that I took the game off both my desktop and laptop. However, my new desktop again comes with Spider Solitaire. And again the infamous spider is devouring the time I should spend with TMG. I know I should simply delete it from the new desktop and get back to TMG. However, I would like to have it on my laptop. Does anyone know an easy way to put it ba

25. Source splitter trying to reform [0.969193]
I'm a source splitter who is trying to become a lumper and could use some advice. I've started trying to set up my census sources at the county level, putting the detail in the CD and using citation exhibits for images and transcriptions. The output looks like this: For a census tag: 1930 US Federal Census, population schedule, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County, found at Ancestry.com, online, ED51-486, ward 44, page 106, sheet 1A, line 28, John Mattison hou
