This is what happens to me. When I run a Descendant's Journal Narrative for two generations (with spouse events checked), I get spouse events for the first generation but not the second. Can I get spouse events for the second -- and eventurally later generations? Barbara Psku@aol.com wrote: > >Is there a report that will include the death tag of a spouse? FYI for all Pertaining to the section about plastics pockets to hold pictures.... www.centuryphoto.com has an excellent line of archival photo supplies. I've been using them for years, they have excellent items. 7. [TMG] Tag sentences and printing [0.970941]
Thanks to all who have pitched in on the issue of my census and deed tags not printing correctly. After studying your replies, those two problem tags are definitely being treated as verbs, thus the wording. Maybe the way they were entered into UFT may have created this problem in the transfer. At any rate, I will have to work on this some more. I have changed the sentence structure in the tag entry screen as well as the tag definition screen and that doesn't change anything in the reports (I looked at Indiv
8. [TMG] TMG Utility [0.970941]
John Cardinal I have been using your utility and find it very useful. One item I am having trouble with is your "Change married names" feature. This works fine under most conditions but I have noticed that when a woman has a name-Var, where she is known by another first name, that the maiden name doesn't show up in brackets in the pick list for that name. It only works for her "primary" first name. Did I miss something somewhere? Emery C. Daly emerydaly@earthlink.net 90 Derek Drive
9. [TMG] Tag sentences and printing [0.970941]
I believe I have got the two issues regarding the census and deed tags resolved. It seems the default sentences were worded such that they would only treat these two tags as verbs. I don't think I did anything to change those, but they certainly weren't going to work with the default "Rebuild Sentence Structure". As far as I know, it's been like this since I switched from UFT and I just trusted the wording in the tag sentence. I reworded the default sentences in the tag definition screen for the deed an
10. [TMG] Negative Information [0.970941]
I thought TMG had an Unmarried tag--or maybe I created it. For individuals/couples who had no children, I use NumChild and put "no" in the memo. Karla Message text written by INTERNET:TMG-L@rootsweb.com > Dear TMGers, I have been entering information from a family tree which someone made up very carefully in pre-computer days. Diana: I agree with Chuck .. I have been doing computer genealogy for about 15 years .. and using TMG the last 5+ years. It is wonderful. You might check with Wholly Genes, but I am sure that if you transitioned now you would probably get a free upgrade to 5.0. check them out at http://www.whollygenes.com Bonita Chuck Wolfram wrote: > We are eagerly awaiting version 5, which will be a 36 bit application, > instead of the current 16 bit. 12. Re: [TMG] Married Names [0.970941]
I too would recommend it. The best example why to me is looking at the SSDI and other death records, like the Texas death index on Rootsweb. You find people listed by the name that they have at death, which for most women is their married name. I like to have TMG up when working online on places like Rootsweb, and being able to search in the picklist by married name makes matching people in my database and in the Rootsweb databases much easier. 15. Re: [TMG] OT: - Standards for Archive of Photographs. [0.970941]
Actually, for archival purposes, you really shouldn't be using JPG. JPG is a "lossy" compression scheme, and depending on how you have your software configured, will result in images not exactly as they were scanned. I'm not certain what you mean by .bmp not being clearer than jpg, but a bmp file will be a better choice than JPG. The best would be TIFF for CD storage. For use on websites, jpg is perfectly acceptable. In a message dated 7/11/01 6:23:04 PM Central Daylight Time, themapalmer@earthl
16. [TMG] relationship calculator [0.970941]
I think I need a lesson in genealogy. When I use the relationship calculator, many times it has more than one answer. For instance, it will say one person is the nephew of the other person. Then I click next and that same person is also a 1st cousin 1 time removed to the other person. Can someone please explain this to me? I always just assumed there was only one relationship between 2 people. But I know "assumption" is the mother of many errors. Thanks for helping me out. Dennis D
17. Re: [TMG] Flag waving [0.970941]
Temporarily deactive all of the flags except this one. It is my understanding that flags appear on the list in the order in which you added them and that there is no way to rearrange them (short of redoing all of them in the order you want). So deactivation remains the option. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marty Ryerson" To: Sent: Tuesday, July 24, 2001 6:30 PM Subject: [TMG] Flag waving > I am in the midst of a boring, tedious, clean-up project. 18. [TMG] A Common Social Security number...? [0.970941]
Quite a few years ago the Walgreen Drug store chain sold a cheap wallet, and as an illustration of its various uses included a simulated [fake] social security card which unfortunately had a [fake] number. I don't about other states, but here in California that number showed up for years, used by illegal immigrants, ignorant people, you-names-its, and so on. I worked, then, in the tax department of a fairly large employer, and every time we filed our SSI returns a few of that phony number would bounce back

All incoming messages from new e-mail addresses load themselves into the Outlook Express address book. That's how you get in someone's book. Have a look at your address book and see all the addresses you don't recognize. May be a way to stop this, but I don't know it. I just clean it out every once in a while. Kathy Anytime you run the external repair program you will lose your configuration settings. You need to set them the way you desire and back up the configuration to use in restoring the configuration after an external repair process. This backup is in addition to the normal dataset backups you should be maintaining. The loss of the configuratoin settings does not in any way harm your genealogy data, only your configuration. You can backup the configuration settings by clicking on "Tools > Options" and se
