1. Re: [TMG] Any LDS ordinance field users out there? [1]
I use those fields. I forgot exactly what your questions were. There is a field for the temple, but you have to know the abbreviations yourself, as there is no drop down menu like in PAF. I don't think those abbreviations are sacred, and often, I enter the place into the detail field, e.g. Endowment House. I have had to change the default sentences for the sealings to children to get them to read correctly. May be my misundstanding of how they were intended, but the program now seems to work correctly
2. RE: [TMG] Reasonable workable size per dataset [1]
Have you found any genealogy program that runs fast with such a large database? I envy you if you have been able to trace 250,000 ancestors. I thought I was doing well with 11,000! My suggestion would be to split up the project, if that can be done logically. On Tue, 2003-07-15 at 06:35, Darrell A. 3. Re: [TMG] Accent for Immigrants??? [1]
Of course, I do have one. Just use a value of Immigrant=Y to set your accent color. On Sat, 2003-07-12 at 17:53, Jim Cassilly wrote: > Is it possible to have an accent for all immigrants to the USA? 4. [TMG] Cancelling a DIC - Ver.5.07 [0.969631]
I start to prepare a Descendant Indented Chart and whilst waiting for it to calculate the text I realise that I have not exercised a certain option. I find I am not able to cancel the operation even tho' the cancel button is there. Is this a minor bug, or "just one of those things"? Or am I at fault? Thanks GaRRy
5. [TMG] TMG Utility 5 - Add Married Names [0.969631]
I am just starting to look at John Cardinal's TMG Utility 5. If you use the Add Married Names Function and copy the maiden name to the Other Name Field, how do you display this name in the picklist or Project Explorer? Also, what if anything do you type in the box that says "OtherName to use if the woman has no primary surname"? All comments and suggestions will, of course, be appreciated. Walt

9. [TMG] First Steps: Import and Output styles [0.969631]
Before leaving the list for the summer, I should like to thank Lee, Terry, Caroline and other experienced users as well as Wholly Genes who answered my pleas for help. No doubt I will be back with more questions when I start to use TMG for proper research. In the meantime my own problems and those of other newcomes suggest. 1. Help File and Users Guide must cross reference TMG terminology to everyday language used by newcomers and users of other programmes. I am delighted that Whollygenes are doing th

12. RE: [TMG] Reposting: 5.0.8 problem [0.969631]
I have gotten similar messages in the past after an upgrade. I think the array dimension message has to do with an indexing problem. In any case after running the maintenance options (perhaps also having to leave TMG and perhaps having to reboot) everything cleared up, there were no data integrity problems and everything was fine. Unless you have done all of these things and are still having problems I don't think you have a thing to worry about them. If you have done all of these things and are stil

Delving a little deeper into my problem with reports in v5.08 More interesting happenings with my Report Filters... I went to the Sample dataset, built a new flag (the same as in my main project), then created a new report with all of the same requirements as I had done in my main project. This time the definitions "stuck." Curiouser and curiouser.... So then I opened my main dataset, and opened the reports. There I see my new report built under the Sample dataset. 17. RE: [TMG] MINOR version discrepancy [0.969631]
The version tab in the properties sheet for Win2K and after always displays versions as 4 integers. Leading zeros are always dropped. That's why I think version numbers like 5.08 for Windows apps can be confusing. In fact, the customary use of a period between the numbers is also confusing, as they are generally not decimal numbers, but just 4 independenly incrementable numbers. -----Original Message----- From: Rollie Littlewood [mailto:rklittle@wisc.edu] Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2003 8:11 AM To: TMG-L@r

20. Re: [TMG] Relatives listed twice in the same census [0.969631]
It happens occasionally. What is a resident? When the expectant bride goes to her mother's house and stays for a month before the delivery, where does she reside? Ask the husband and of course she lives with him but she's "visiting" her mother right now. Ask the mother and "she's living here until after the baby is born". So she gets counted both times. And for a host of similar reasons, place of residence depends on who you ask. Stuart Armstrong mail to: stuarta@aros.net web page: http://cgi.aros.net/~stu

Also, I have a list on my page of abbreviations if someone sees one and doesn't know what it means, and it also links to a similar page with more internet abbreviations on the whollygenes site. 24. [TMG] what do I do with my biographies? [0.969631]

25. RE: [TMG] Begeman Census - Ind Nar [0.969631]
Patt, One change I have made in my census sentences that isn't on the website, is I now have roles called Daughter01, Son02, Son03 etc. Then the first child is given the role of Daughter01 or Son01, the second child Daughter02 or Son02 etc, that way I can control the printing more, and by looking at the role, I know the person was a child of what kind of sex of the Head of household and what child they were in the family. For instance, Becky Smith Daughter08 was the 8th child of the Head of household and
