1. [TMG] witnesses [1]
I need help, please, "linking" four people who appear on one passport. This family immigrated to the US from Great Britain and all four (husband, wife, two children) are identified on a single British passport. I have created a custom tag PASSPORT, assigned to the husband, with wife and each child as witnesses. The sentence syntax is: [P1] appears on a passport with [WO]. My individual narrative report for the husband works, i.e., generates this sentence: "Husband appears on a passport with Wife, Ch
2. [TMG] names in suffix field [1]
I have been corresponding with Sherri Hessick--who thought up the idea of using names in the suffix field--about the recent problems brought up with the list. She worked on it for awhile, and with her permission, here is what she found: [BTW, she submitted it to WG techs too] (snip) What we WANT is the maiden name in the suffix field of the Name-Marr tag, AND the married name in the suffix of the primary name tag. Right?? At least from the 2 messages you sent to me, it looks like this is what you and Ed

FYI--here is the answere Sherri got from TMG techs: Rondie, Here is the answer I received from WG about the suffix problem. Hi Gene, Without knowing what software you use, my answer may not fit. I use Netscape and when I want to save a message, I right click on the message and select "Forward Inline". This gives me a copy without extra marks. I then delete extra material and save the trimmed message and move it to my TMG folder. 12. RE: [TMG] "Glitch" with date entry?? [0.970203]
Hi Bob, I'll try and answer to the best of my memory: 1) I almost always leave the screen by pressing F10 (My normal route through the screen is: add name, add birth date, add death date if I have any, normally tab-ing through all these, then add citation by pressing F4, and leaving that by F10, and leave it all by F10 once more.) 2) I can't say I have noticed, but the cursor would normally be left somewhere midways in the tour of the screen when I press F4 to go to the citation screen. Sometimes, I have h

14. [TMG] help with filter.....again [0.970203]
Once again I cannot figure out a filter, and need to presume on the help of wiser heads. I am trying to do a timeline of all events in one family; i.e. one person and his decendants for 4 generation. I just want a list of years in chronological order and what happened to the family for each. Am I the only one who can't get onto this filter thing? Harry -- I presume you kept your data in UFT (now transferring/transferred to TMG, since you're on this list?) and the passed data via GEDCOM to Pro-Gen. Right? Have you tried this from TMG? Any problems with fields not being transferred correctly. Thanks in advance for the info. 24. [TMG-L:] Re: TMG-L: Tags [0.970203]
After reading other responses may I give another view. If I have no death date and have a legal "after death action date" I add a death tag using the date modifiers before or between depending upon other information I might have. This information can be suitably sourced. As for the will itself the first binding date is the recorded date (remember a person can write more than one will during his life time) and this is the will date I use. I generally insert the text of the will in a memo and mark it for
25. [TMG] Wishlist - VCF Date Option [0.970203]
I'm making up some charts using Visual Chartform to put a a T-shirt (don't get me into why ) and readability is an issue. I want to put in the boxes only names and birth - death dates in the form "1851 - 1915". So far as I can tell , there is no option to show both dates on the same line, nor to show only the years, so I'm editing them manually. This may be a rather special application, but it seems to me that this is a useful option to squeeze at least a little helpful information into any chart where
