Hi Lee I have changed the defaults from the US for the following countries. New Zealand L3 = Suburb/Parish L4 = Town/City L5 = Province (as defined by NZSG) L9 Northings/Eastings Scotland L3=Parish L4 = Town/City L5 = County Ireland L3 = Townland L4 = Parish/Town L5 = County I don't use Temple so on all Templates I have changed this to "abbreviation" and I enter the 3 digit chapmen codes for region and country (using the 2 digit state code for US ones) Nikki -----Original Me

It is hard to say why it is. I suspect that it has to do with the increased complexity of the TMG5 data base model, the use of Visual FoxPro 6 as the database engine and some changes made in VCF2 (as compared with VCF 1.2 used in TMG4). 11. [TMG] strange witness problem [1]
I added two witnesses to a will tag, and upon seeing the same name twice, naturally thought it was of my own doing. I deleted one and added the correct witness (heir/executrix role), and ended up with two of the same name again, with one maintaining the role set for the second person. This time, I saw the change when I clicked on the name once. So, I deleted both and started over. When I entered the second person, the name didn't change, but I instantly had two entries for that person, three entries i

Cheri, I take it that this is an error as a result of importing a long value from TMG4 and not because of entering a long value within TMG5. What do you get? In both case, it sort like I would expect. No dates sort first, followed by the earliest Birth (or Death) Date and then chronologically. If your data set is like mine, then it has a bunch of no Birth (or Death) Tags or no Birth (or Death) Dates. Th

Hi Folks, I can't find the long promised Personal Document Number (PDN) field on the source entry screen. Am I missing the blindingly obvious? Like the sentence preview feature on the tag entry screen, this is a feature that I have been waiting for, and one which I was sure would have been included in TMG5. I know that there are several ways to work around this issue if the PDN feature has not eventuated - I currently use the repository reference number - but this is not a totally adequate solution. I

24. Re: [TMG] JPG quality degradation [1]
Teresa I have a negative scanner that scans 35 mm and APS negatives and 35 mm slides. It scans them at up to 2450 dpi so that you can enlarge them. True you can not expect a 300 dpi scan of a negative to produce a quality 8" x 10" photo but a 2450 scan will make an 11" x 17" print just fine. Of course the cost of the scanner was very high compared to a flatbed scanner. Myrnice To: Sent: Friday, June 28, 2002 3:14 PM Subject: Re: [TMG] JPG quality degradation
