1. Re: TMG-L: Oddball use of TMG [1]
That was me...I am almost done with my project, and found it worked wonderfully to organize my material. This is how I did it, there is no URL, but maybe you'll get some ideas. (If you wish, I can e-mail you a .sqz file, so you can see the result) 1) copied the ancestor who had Civil War service, and deleted almost all the events in the clone's life. I left birth, marriage and death, since I intended to include those events in the written product. This clone is where all of the threads will be apparent,

Geeez, I thought had a handle on this date stuff but I'm finding out that I'm not quite as smart as I thought I was. You're all coming up with the answer I want but I can't figure out how you get it. According to the Calendar zone (thanks Bev) and Elizabeth Sat. 19 Jan falls on Saturday in 1667 in the Julian calendar. Everyone is telling me that this is 1666/67 and that's what I want to hear but if it's '67 julian, wouldn't that be '68 Gregorian? In other words 1667/68 (which doesn't work at all for my

I have read with interest how people create 'dummy' persons for things like census records and such. What I would like to do is somehow record a reasearch source that has no connections; I've looked at the source and found no connection at all. I want to be able to keep a record of this source however and want to list the surnames I'm did the search on, along with various spelling variations, the date searched, the source of the source (web site, library, etc), and I would also like to list any found surna

Hi John, You asked about the FTM CD's. I have a few bundles that my husband bought me for Mother's Day. I haven't been successful with them. But then my cousin, a male with a different last name, found two trees that connected with his surname on his dads side of the family. I'm from the mothers side. So there you have it. I just realized that I can only have one (1) primary occupation. If a person held several occupations as his life progressed, then how is one primary. Non-primary tag are overlooked in reports (option) to avoid too much info. It will print all notes. So, why am I not better off recording occupations as notes.
