6. [TMG] Whether the weather is fine or not as we wait? [0.970297]
There are some interesting new themes on the list as we wait patiently <:)> for Bob and his very good team. What's snow? We have a reasonably good summer day here although many are hoping for some rain as we need it - though it would only make my lawn grow and I would have to cut it. It looks as though we may get the upgrade later than most as today is already Saturday 1 March 2003 9.53am. Courgettes will be served, of course . Since Teresa doesn't fly she'd better set out now - she can bring her laptop & headphones and work on cleaning up her sources en route. Darrell Just while we're waiting - my daughter was in England recently doing her big OE and part of the time she was doing home nursing. She told me that one time she was looking after an old lady and she got talking to the man of the house. He had been a Don at Oxford and knew Tolkein and Lewis and used to "go down to the pub with them for a drink and a talk." She knew it would make me jealous, but she is a good daughter - she went to Wellington Museum recently (our capital) and saw the Tolkein exhibit

Meanwhile in the cold North of England (probably nothing to Yellowknife) the crocuses are just starting to appear. The temperature has been rising and spring appears to be approaching. A couple of mornings with thick fog. One was with the fog lying in the valleys and the Tyne was a grey blanket with the arch of the Tyne Bridge rising up out of it. I have yet to spot a lamb but it's just a metter of time. Jeff Piper Stanley Co. Durham Land of the Prince Bishops www.piper22.freeserve.co.uk ----- Original Me

14. [TMG] While you are waiting - Places? [0.970297]
I am concerned about the way places have changed their names and which state, etc they are now in. This is sometimes fixed by adding "now known as XXX" to the place entry, but this is not really the best way to do this - is it? It is mixing up what was in the source with something extra (unsourced) that the researcher has added. Then there the places that are known by 2 or more names concurrently - Eurpoean Cities are good examples for US persons to think about e.g. "Rome" or "Roma". How do you think

21. [TMG] TMG 5.04 accent, witness and timeline colours on laptop [0.970297]
I have encountered a strange problem in trying to duplicate my TMG set-up from my PC to my laptop. The colours I have chosen for accents, timelines and witnessed events come out very different on the LCD screen of my laptop. For example, the RGB value of my Timeline background colour is: Red: 200, Green: 200, Blue: 172. On my PC this is a golden-khaki colour. On my laptop it comes out grey. The change in other colours is not quite so dramatic but they all seem "washed out". I have tried playing about with

I find the list fascinating, but I missed a day and have 178 messages. I have them all delivered to the TMG file on my e-mail. I have a few favorites, Lee, Theresa, Richard Brogger, bob gillis. It takes a lot of time to look at all the messages of the list. Is there a way to just accept messages from certain people? or if I use block sender, will this block a person, or the whole list? The list is an endless source of education for me and positively delightful people, whom I admire. Before tonight, I
