3. RE: [TMG] Correspondence log in TMG -- approaches [1]
Hmm ... how do you keep the Email tags from printing out on reports like Family Group Sheets and the like? Just deselect them in report definitions, I suppose? It certainly is a nice way of splitting the difference. I'll have to give that some thought. The List of Tasks for the Repository would generate a sort of log ... though I don't know if it feels quite as clean as having them listed as tags under a person ... I must experiment a bit. Thanks for the idea, Teresa. D- -----Original Message----- From:

Beth, If there was a way to globally set up a [:CIT] variable I would totally agree with you. But I hate to localize sentences, so the [FN] variable would allow me to put the citation in globally. 8. Re: Re: [TMG] OT: Filing system (for Denise) [1]
Ah...this was my stumbling block with "person" oriented filing also and why I moved to location based files. I'm fortunate in that I only have four countries so far that I'm searching in (although I'll be adding a couple more as I add in my DH's family lines). I use sequential numbering within the files (ScotCen1851/001 = Scotland file group (black) Census 1851 folder, paper/page protector #1) as my reference number. So for your example #1 - I would file in whatever colour folder I would use for Missouri u
9. Disappointed in Kinship Report [1]
I have been playing with the Kinship report for a little while and am pretty disappointed with it. I thought I'd send along my comments in case I am causing any of my own disappointment! (Please advise gently if so .) Last fall I devoted a great deal of time to scanning in old family photographs that my father-in-law brought over from England, and during their trip now I finally added a great many of his relatives into my database and then attached pictures of nearly all of them from the scans

Well at least he doesn't move once a month. I don't use Address tags, since my family moves to much, but if I did, I don't think I would add a whole new tag just for an email address. Unlike a physical address, you won't be able to find records on the individual related to an email address. Yes, but what Robin is suggesting would allow the user to put the variables into the Master Tag Type List sentence structure ONE time, and it would then print correctly for all sentences. Embedded citations have to be done on each sentence and you lose the ability to have global sentences. Unless I missed something along the way. Hi Jim, If this problem is going to be looked into how about adding the umlauted y to the list. It has never worked - even in Version 4. Like others, whether it's proper usage or not, I have lots of Swiss records which use it and I have to remember to search all of the affected names in every word processor report to add it back in. This again, works fine as long as TMG is used to print the reports but fails when it is sent to Word. Thanks Ray >> TMG seems to output: >> >> - + 0135 (doub

Thank you Paul. Yep, being the lazy type, I leave "Use the Current Focus Person" checked for most reports, including this Journal report. It correctly shows the name and ID# of the person I have selected in the Person View. On my previous response, the example that I attempted to show lost the carriage return, somehow, and the error did not appear correctly in the transmitted message. What am I missing that I can't save a particular combination of settings for an import?
