1. RE: [TMG] Global changes to Mother Tags [1]
Mark, please forget my last response, tested my 'idea' and it doesn't work quite as expected and would cause other problems in the long run ... Astrid > Mark, > are the Father tags -Fst as well? If so, I might have an idea ... > Astrid
2. is this list working? [1]
This is a test message to check the status of this list. It's been unusually quiet or I'm not receiving mail. It's been several days since the last received post. Ron Hamlin

----- Original Message ----- From: "Sholder, Kevin L" > I'd like to use "[" and "]" as a part of a sentence for a source, but > these are also the symbols used to create source elements and seems like > there will be a problem. Is that a true statement? I have used the [ and ] in source sentences without problems. The only thing that happens is you get a message saying you're using brackets with an unknown element or something. Just say ok and go on with what you are doing. Kathy

Since "Ibid" is printed in the text of your report: 1. You have selected to embed your Sources in the report and/or 2. You have Ibid enabled in the Source, or for the report for Sources. In the Report Definition Screen, click on the [Options] button and choose the Sources tab. There you may choose

11. OT: Thunderbird [1]
Is adoption of Thunderbird (the Mozilla free source email program currently at release 0.9) recommended at this time? I am currently using the latest version of Eudora in sponsored mode and have just downloaded Thunderbird and taken a cursory look at it. It appears (as I expected) to be impressive. What reservations do you have? Any known problems I should be warned of? Thanks Walt
12. Filter Question [1]
I tried to enter a filter definition that would show me those people of two specific surnames who had married. I'm getting this message "This report filter cannot be processed because it has an unbalanced sequence of parentheses. Please edit the target filter and try again". I can't see where the parentheses are unbalanced. Can someone point it out to me? 13. RE: [TMG] Wish List - the "O" in the source number box [1]
I reported this problem many months ago and, in fact, spent a lot of time on the phone with Barbara at tech support. We changed settings, VFI'd etc, even uninstalled and reinstalled several times. We never did figure out what was causing it. And to make matters worse, it is not consistent. About 90% of the time it does not highlight the zero, but occasionally it does! I do not have this problem on my Windows 98 notebook, only on my XP Pro. But it was not always the case --- it used to work fine on both

17. TMG data in Access [1]
About a month ago, Dennis Beiber gave some instructions on viewing TMG data in Microsoft Access. His directions on setting up the ODBC connections were fine but I am having a problem with his last two steps: >Select the relevant files >Prepare to specify the proper key field for each selected table file. For those of us who don't know the structure of the TMG files, it would be really helpful if someone could tell us which file is which, and more importantly, what is the key field in each table (if ther

In the Memo section, the enter key will not start a new paragraph. Check this out in the Individual View mode. Using the Enter key in MS Word starts a new paragraph and puts in the proper codes. If I then cut and past it from MS Word, it is then properly formated for a new paragraph in the Individual View mode. 20. Sort Roles - Upcoming feature [1]
Bob, I'm hoping that this feature will allow me to sort on the individual tag, instead of globally from the Master Tag Type List. I can foresee cases in which I may not want to "reorder" the roles for every tag. Thank you for your time, Kevin L. Sholder

22. TMG on old notebook [1]
I recently bought a new (to me), old notebook Compaq Armada. The only things I wish to use it for are word processing (taking notes) and TMG - taking to libraries, etc. to research and input findings. It is a pentium 1 with Windows 98 on it. I have TMG 5.15 (or whatever the latest automatic upgrade is) on my Dell desktop, and have all my data in there. When I upgraded from V. 4, to my main computer, I did so by downloading, so, although I have the CD for V. 4, I do not have a CD for V. 5. I saw o
23. Re: [TMG] Changing Flag Value [1]
Terry and Lee Thanks for the assistance. Task has been accomplished. Altho' in saying that there appears to be a "relationship" problem. I have merged the Duplicate people where appropriate but I note that a lot of them show that they are of no blood relationship to me. In the "minor" dataset every individual (excl spouses [of course]) is descended from a James MOSS who is my 6xgreat grandfather. Do I now have to do a linking procedure? I hope you follow as to what I am getting at. Garry >> I w
24. Re: [TMG] Wish List - [1]
While we're making "wish lists" how hard would it be to erase - permanently - the "0" in the "add witness" page? If I forget to erase it before I put in the number I want, I'm told that that isn't a number. Why not just a black space to put the number in? Carol Collins

Did you know that you can insert a carriage return by right clicking while in a Memo, the selecting it from the options in the pop-up window? This inserts a code for interpretation when producing a report for your word processor. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ronald Hanthorn" To: Sent: Wednesday, November 24, 2004 1:24 PM Subject: [TMG] Wish List >I would like for the Memo section's to allow the Enter Key to create a > carriage return like MS Word d
