I will try that tonight. According to the earlier thread doing a complete re-install was tried and didn't work, but it's still worth a try. I appreciate your help and suggestions. Thanks!!! I tried this, but it did not work. I also tried downloading and reapplying the v6.12 patch and that didn't help either. I had hoped that TMG would monitor the list, but apparently not. 5. [TMG] V6.12 Bug??? [1]
Ever since upgrading to V6.12 last week I have not been able to add or edit a tag. Whatever I try to type in a tag entry box causes the Exhibit Manager to automatically pop up. The ONLY tag that still works is the Name- Var tag. I am using TMG on both my laptop and desktop computers and am having the same problem on both machines. Everything else works fine. Rebooting the systems did no good. Has anyone else had this problem? With tech support away for a week on the cruise I am at a total loss. Any he

14. Re: [TMG] Printer not activated [0.871636]
Presumably this 'caution' (3rd para below) from the 6.12 release info should be kept in mind: PDF output from TMG. The PDF printer driver has been updated to the current version 2.51. If you have the old "Wholly Genes PDF Writer" permanently installed, you will want to use File / Printer Setup to install the updated "Wholly Genes PDF Writer v2". You don't need to uninstall the older driver (which is required for earlier verions of TMG) but can do so by opening the Windows Printer and Faxes folder, selec

I believe the output is showing what is there and what it is changing it to. Check individual 1706 and see if the current date in the tag is '27 Jul 1860. 19. Re: [TMG] Place sentence structure using near [0.871636]
Joanne, I handle this problem by simply using only the higher level places; county, state or township, county, state. Anything else messes up my Second Site place index. I do include the more detailed information ("near Anytown", "2 miles from Podunk") in the citation memo. I also include it in my research data set, but then most people don't maintain both a research and a publication data set. Another place to put the more specific information is in the place comment for those of us who

DeAnna, Forgive this ole' lady a smile and a reply... not for your analysis of the gadget, but I'm thinking.... would any of us have understood what in the world you were talking about.... say 10 years ago (maybe even 5 years ago). Even now, I think I got it, but possibly not. And, no fault of yours! I remember the first microwave oven I ever saw (1950s maybe?)... installed in a luxury home my husband was remodelling... it cost a thousand dollars, and we knew we'd never own one. I have to catch
21. [TMG] UFT to TMG Conversion [0.871636]
Thanks for the sound advice concerning my "outdated" laptop and transferring files back to it to use them for viewing during research trips. I have decided to go ahead and get the laptop repaired (less than $100) and see if it will work with TMG. In the meantime, I did an experimental GEDCOM transfer of my current data from TMG back to UFT. It actually went quite well -the only issue I could see is that the biographical and event text had spaces where shouldn't. That may be easily corrected by changi

Lee and John, Thank you very much--I knew I could count on this list for 1) an answer almost-before-my-posted qustion and 2) an answer that is totally understandable. John, I hadn't realized that TMG and TMG Utility couldn't be open at the same time so I'm going to take your advice and NOT put it in the External Utilities. Lee, I am sooo glad I don't have to reinstall anything :-). I had hoped I could just edit the app and am pleased that that's the way to go. Of course, now I'm not going

24. Re: [TMG] Wish List - Date Calculator [0.871636]
I agree with Robert. I have put forth a "wish list" item for this function for the date calculator (the option to enter any two of three operators -- beginning date; ending date; age in years, days and months -- to get the third) on a few occasions but it seems that I was the only one who was interested in it. Maybe the developers might think about it for the next update or new version. Polly Held phheld@twcny.rr.com Robert Thorpe wrote: >Terry Reigel wrote: > > > >>The date is in whatever order yo

Ronald The ID numbers used internally by TMG are not the same as those you use in TMG. In the...$. table the PER_NO is the number used internally by TMG; the ID numbers shown externally and used by you are the REF_ID numbers. All the other tables use the PER_NO to reference people (not the REF_ID numbers that you use.) - explaining the apparant error.
