Your approach sounds about like what I think I've been doing too Terry. I've ordered ESM Quicksheet and will see if that fits. 3. Re: [TMG] HELP please! Can't open Project [1]
Kathy, While helping a local TMG user with a slightly different problem, we discovered that his XP system had been set not to show CDX files in Windows Explorer. It seems that the CDX extension is used by Microsoft for 2 different purposes. It is most likely that the installation of Microsoft Front Page on this machine changed the file type settings of CDX files so you can't normally see them. Just a warning that the files may have been there but you could not see them. Robin Lamacraft (Adelaide, Au

8. RE: [TMG] OT -- Requesting advice on buying a new computer [1]
Sonys are pricey... but the computer sounds great and should be more than enough for your needs! I LOVE my 19" HS94P Sony Monitor! Text and graphics are very clear and IMHO worth every penny, especially for the real estate gained for TMG! My son has a lesser Sony monitor and it looks great, too. My husband has an older Sony monitor with stacked pixels on his computer which still has a great picture. His monitor is about 5 years old, and hid computer is also a Sony, 6 1/2 years old. We had a Sony bef

Just throwing in my loyalty to HP. Have been using their products since 1989 (began with two 500/500C Deskjets, still working, but semi-retired.). First HP computer in 1995. Now on my third, as well as a new HP Tablet pc (making it the fourth.) Delighted to have HP build them for me, good prices and excellent tech support should you need it (as I did for my HP iPAQ ) Uh, would that make 5 HP computers? JoAnn

Oh yeah. I have been reading on Melungeons lately (have to have something to take to the beach. ). And today I found a distant relative who was a free man of color. HMMM. Do I assume that he was a free man of color, or do I assume that the census taker forgot to put a check in his age column and that he really had two free men of color living with him? Makes for an interesting afternoon for someone who has no clean clothes and a plane ticket in three days. Teresa Ghee Elliott IBSSG Rutherford

John & Astrid, Thanks, John, I wasn't aware of that option in your program; I will keep that in mind although it was not what I was about at the time! 23. Re: [TMG] Which name to use [1]
The Uk Standard style in TMG is Addressee, Detail, Village/Area, Town/City, County, Country. So the English County is in the same place as the US State. It is still difficult because what was a Village/Area on one date then becomes a Town/City later on so exactly where to put a place can cause problems, especially as there are further sub levels not catered for. Look at http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/%7Ejimella/counties.htm for further information Jeff Piper http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/

Interesting. North Dakota is listed as a state under the November 1882 date. North Dakota was the 39th state in the USA; it became a state on November 2, 1889. Arizona became a state in 1912. How many states listed below were officially states in 1882?
