1. Exhibit question [1]
Is there any way to set an exhibit photo so that it fills the display box? I have just recently started adding photos to TMG, but I'm disappointed that they look so small on screen. I'm not referring to any kind of printout, but only to the exhibit section of my on screen layout. The on screen exhibit "box" is about 3" x 4" but the photos only fill about a third of that space. Thanks! John -- **************** John K. Brown Researching: BROWN, ABNEY, BURT, WATTS "Some family trees have beautiful leav

Jack On the Childs detail screen, pen the Father tag and/or the Mother tag at the top of the screen and insert the TMG id number of the father and/or mother. You can add the Father-bio and Mother-bio tags and then select them and click on the asterisk on the toolbar to make them primary. 10. custom and default sentence problem [0.967273]
Colleagues, I have just noticed an oddity. First: I only change sentences globally. I do no customization at the tag level. . I recently entered an Obituary and noticed that down at the bottom under the button sentence was the following: P1:[:CR:][:CR:]The obituary of [R:Interred] reads as follows:[:CR:]<[M]> I then clicked on sentence, and I noticed that the word custom is at the top. I erased the sentence that is there (the sentence itself is correct and is the one that I have i

14. Person Name disappeared from expanded picklist [0.967273]
My thanks to John and John for suggesting to move the cursor to the left side of the person name box to see if it turns to a double-ended arrow. It sounded like a logical suggestion that I had not thought of. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. The only double-ended arrow I get is to resize the window. Any other suggestions? 16. RE: STATE HOOD wAS RE: [TMG] Tip of the day-Tag to record Presidents aspart of person's narrative. [0.967273]
Cheryl, I use bogus people all the time and it can be very useful. The main thing is I can go to that person if I need to link another person to a tag. I also use bogus people for military units and I know some people use them for census tags. One useful thing I am finding on the statehood tags is I can see that many of the people that I say were born in a certain state were actually born in the area that would become that state. So I am going to have to go back and see what the area was called at the

18. RE: [TMG] Backup strategy question [0.967273]
Lee et al, Step 3 of the Backup Wizard has a checkbox for "External Exhibits". If checked, TMG will include external exhibit files in the backup. If that is unchecked, it won't. So yes, external exhibits can be backed up, but you don't have to include them. I don't. I think the default is checked. In all cases, the contents of the exhibit table are always backed up. The exhibit table is where TMG stores things like captions and other information about the exhibit. For an _internal_ image exhibit, the exh

OK, this is only now an irritation... It appears that when I shut down TMG and then bring it up, the sentence goes to default and the "custom sentence" no longer appears below the "sentence" button. No wonder I haven't seen it until now. I ran VFI....no problems. I also shut down the entire computer and rebooted. Curiouser, and curiouser. Not an answer, but I have been trying to determine when/how this arises. The border is not visible in normal chart view (on screen) nor in print preview. If I print directly to my inkjet printer no border is printed. But if I choose to create a PDF file (using either the Wholly Genes PDF writer or Adobe PDF) the border appears! I'll keep testing ...
