Dear Naomi: I sure would ask you to look up Smiths for me, but it would be
too cruel. I have been trying to get a copy of that book, but I was too far
back in the line to get it. I am interested in a Mary Elizabeth Smith born
in 1873-1874. There is one in Cocke County in the 1880 Census. I am ruling
out the Marys the right age for my grandmother in Tennessee. I have ruled
out the ones in Greene and Washington Counties. I thought since you had the
book maybe you could look, but there may be too many o

Indian Nation. Emigrants from North Carolina and Virginia settled there
about the year 1786, and the Society was organized about one yeay later. It
was composed of John Winton and wife, Arabell

reason, I am receiving these. This is the 2nd one I have received this
evening. Please check your records to see why I am getting these. It could
possibly be that they entered an incorrect entry & it came to me in error.
Thank you.

George Webb, owner of TN Books & Autographs, just informed me that he
has 2 first editions of "Over the Misty Blue Hills" by Ruth Webb Odell.
The pricing is very reasonable on these. Please remember that the first
editions have no index. I'm sure if you purchase one of these volumes,
one of us who have the reprint would copy the index for you. You can
reach George at . Just thought I would pass this along
as this book is getting so hard to find.

Does anyone have a definitive list of the children of Thomas and Frances
(Caldwell) Barnes. Most of the lists I've seen have a son, Isaac, born
1864. However, in the 1870 and 1880 Cocke Co censuses their child born
1864 is clearly a DAUGHTER named "Puss". In 1881 "Puss" Barnes married
John Grooms in Cocke Co (I guess, the license was apparently never
returned). Was "Puss" Barnes actually named RACHEL? Did Puss/Rachel
later marry Jimmy Sutton? Any help appreciated.
