Hi-
Does anyone have access to the Gibson County census of 1910 or 1920? I am
desperate need of a lookup. I know the entire household on both censuses but
what I need is to find out where my great grandfather's parents were born. I
had someone look up my great grandfather & his children several years ago in
the soundex but it didn't list the last lines that included where his parents
were born. I'm having terrible trouble (7 years worth) locating my great
grandfathers parents & this might give the help
Hi Everyone,
I was just reminded that there is a email list you can join for folks
who are just beginning with genealogy. If you find yourself asking the
question, "where do I go from here" or "what's my next step," you may
want to join this email list.
To subscribe to it, send a message to GEN-NEWBIE-L-request@rootsweb.com
with the word "subscribe" in the the body of the message. Please don't
place anything else in the msg or it will NOT work. And of course,
don't put the quote marks in.

Just wanted to send a note to let you know how much this is appreciated.

Just found some of my folks (Yarbrough and Foster) in the 1850 census for
the 12th District. Do you know in what part of the county District 12 was
located?

Eddy,
Thank you.
A very interesting history lesson.
Last summer I copied seven pages of these abstracts from some 1986 Family
Findings and I've been trying to figure them out ever since.
I see the same names, as assignees, on many of these deeds. Butler, McNairy,
Phillips, Pinson and others.
These men were most likely purchasing the land from the soldiers or their
heirs?
Thank you again for clearing this up for me.
Karla

MJ, check out the TNGENWEB home page for maps. One will show the Civil Survey
Districts for TN. If you're looking for the county districts, you might check
out the census maps books. Mary
Although it didn't give me the answers I was looking for, I really enjoyed
reading about town and the people of the town. There was a couple of people
whose kin married into my Binyon line (Turner/Billinsley), so it was really
interesting. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Hi Everyone
I wrote to the
Mid-West Tennessee Genealogy Society
PO Box 3343
Jackson, TN 38303-0343
This is a group of volunteers.
They ask that queries be 8 lines or less, including your name and address.
The fee is $1.00 or $5.00 if you want a copy of the quarterly newsletter with
your query in it. They search all of West TN except Shelby County.
I will ask them to search for Martha Irene LANE who was born 13 July 1834 in
Madison Co. She married William Osborne BOYKIN 17 Nov 1852. They had 5
children
The very LAST district to be done now is NO. 16.........and the lucky person
who transcribes No. 16 wins absolutely free an email photo of ME sweeping
the porch at Hampton's in Skullbone! (Just one of my part-time jobs) Don't
miss this chance! A one of a kind collector's item!

Their children were: Isaac Newton b. 1838 TN, m. (1) Mary L.

Hello everyone,
I'll forward this on to the TNGibson-L somewhat relutantly. I would
sincerely like to help Ms Helen out because she has helped me out in the
past with some of my GARNER research. But I'd like to keep this list
primarily genealogy-based.
Take care everyone - You're all doing a great job. And if this type of
