Kay, My Tryon Milton YANCEY, whose grandmother and great grandmother were GRAVES, was one of them. He was born in Oxford, Granville Co., NC in 1794, then moved to Pulaski shortly after graduating from UNC in 1812. He read law under Silas FLOURNOY and married one of his daughters, Louisa Ann. He moved to Holly Springs, Alabama shortly after it was founded about 1828. More details are on my web pages. Hi, Does anyone doing DOTSON research know who George W. Dotson's parents were and who he married first? The children were Rosie L. Dotson (born about 1904) and James Edward Dotson (b. abt 1896). George W. Dotson was a mail carrier in Giles Co TN when he was married second to Emma PILLOW in 1910. He was a policeman in 1926 when he was killed. Does any Dotson researcher have George W. I'm enlarging research on the Graves & Steele lines who came into Giles Co., TN out of Granville Co., NC about 1798-1810. My line runs: Thomas Steele b. 1761 Cumberland Co., England (bur. Old Graveyard Park, Pulaski, Giles Co., TN) married Lydia, dau. of William Graves, 1789, in Granville Co., NC.
