1. Re: [TNHARDIN] WINCHESTER b. 1780+- NC [1]
Hi, I can't give you any actual information on the couple but perhaps I can give you some avenues to persue. My ancestor, Frederick Franks, had a sister, Elizabeth, who married a John Fesperman in 1798 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Frederick was in Warren County, Tennessee by 1812 and later in Hardin County, Tennessee. We believe his brother, Jacob Franks, was in Bedford County, Tennessee in 1820 and later in Hardin County, Tennessee. There appears to have been a huge movement in the early 1800s o

4. [TNHARDIN] Re: [TNMCNAIR] confederate prisoners [1]
I appreciate the several messages you and others have sent me on the subject. I knew at least two of Wilson's companies were from Hardin County and probably a couple others. Joab A. Russell from my neighborhood and Ezekiel D. Polk from around west Shiloh were Captains of Companies A and B, while Bert Hays was Capt. of Co. H. "Tennesseans " state that Company H was from Madison County, but I suspect that most of them were probably from Hardin Co. Russell and Hays both started out in Robertson's Cavalry
