Sometimes, it helps to get us in the right area, to just check the census
indexes for the states we are working in...then all the states around that
one. good luck, Jeanette.

Julia, I don't know who she is. But I do know that many of the Moore family
moved to Texas, though I am not sure where. Of those, I believe Easter
Moore was one of those who moved. In my things somewhere I believe I have a
photograph of her.
I'd like to know more about those who moved to Texas.

Besides Tim King Sr and Sherry S. Finhum is there any one out there that is
researching these surnames and or belong to the Lincoln CO. Genealogical
Society? If so it will save me from writing you all by post. Let me hear
from you
Julia (Wright) Molitz
I find these at
http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=king1
I found both mentioned source publications available on the web but no
actual docs. I will keep digging.

Tellette,
Which siblings are you talking about. I have no info on Mary Moore. I posted
Harriet's siblings to TNLINCOL-L, to Joy, look back to see in you can find
them, if not, let me know.
Also, FYI, Samuel Cashion & Elizabeth Wilkinson were cousins. Samuel Cashion,
Jr. was a CSA pow and died in Indiana and is buried in a multi grave in that
state.
Harriet had two daughters, Mary Ann & Mary E. Can you explain this?
Regards,
Robert Cashion
Thanks for the info. All that I have been able to find on WILLIAM MCGINNIS
is that he appeared as a witness on several real estate transfers , he
fought in the War of 1812 and he was a plaintiff in a court case where he
was represented by Andrew Jackson. This was when the area was known as the
Mero District.

Elaine, My mother and sisters told me that their g grandmother was Betsy
Hardin who married their g grandfather, Reps Osborn Childress Sr of
Lincoln Co, he died 31 Aug 1825 in LinCo. They had come from Virginia,
probably Prince Edward Co. I know of three children, Reps Osborn Jr,
Obedience, and Naomi. All these children have records in Prince Edward
Co VA.
Do you know of any Childress/Hardin marriage?
Hi,
Samuel Blake Sanders was born 11 Mar 1822 near Petersburgh. Are there any
Sanders researchers who know how Major, Wesley and Jesse Sanders might be
related? They signed each others deeds.

Charles,
I don't know much, just bits and pieces:
The Ninth District was where my COLE family lived--John Cole/Nancy Graves.
I was told the name Shull was originally Scholl and that there is a Daniel
Boone connection.
I was also told that John Norris Epps, husband of Florence Cole who was F.
M. Cole's daughter, bought Epps Hollow.
I don't know who the Susan Shull age 6 was--she was living in the
household of Sally Armstrong age 60--but they are living right next door to
Wm. Cole age 23 (brother
The Goodspped books are good reference too. My ancestor, Joel Swaner was
selling land in NC about 1812 and was listed as living in Lincoln ct at the
time. He later got a land grant from TN in 1820. When he came to TN it was
with his wife and at least 2 children. One family story is that coming down a
steep slope their ox cart overturned pinning them under it. It took some time
to get them free, but they were not seriously hurt. They started out in what
was Subdivision one and later moved to the Millev
Hi Gene,
I have John Cole and Nancy Graves in my tree.....Their dau. Emaline m.
Malachi Benson Land.....Do you have any info on this couple....All I know of
them is they m. 1853 in Lincoln Co....I have a court record dated 1900 for
the Lands, which states Malachi is decd, and that he and Emaline were living
in MO....
Any info on this couple would be greatly appreciated,
Cindy
It's interesting to me how virtually everyone on this 1850 LCT census page (not counting Ledbetters) show to be born in TN; however, # 166 Sally Armstrong 60 and # 164 Nancy Cole 54 were both born in South Carolina. Maybe they're sisters.
Dear List,
I have provided information regarding my ancestry to many members of this
list over the years. However, I recently received additional information
which necessitates a change in my ancestry.
My 6th great grandparents are William George (b. Abt. 1699; d. Bef. 16 May
1760) and Rebecca Martin.
William George is the son of William George and Elizabeth Carter, the
daughter of Capt. Thomas Carter and Katherine Dale, of Lancaster Co.,
Virginia. (Please note that William George and Rebecca Martin
Julia,
Tom King and Larry D have both helped me build my tree. ARMSTRONG and
KING are in my wife and children's tree. My wife's parents are both from
Lincoln Co. The family tree is online at

I am always on the lookout for any corrections, updates or to fill in any
missing info.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave:
I am familiar with the Ephraim King that was born in VA and migrated,
apparently to GA, and who's widow participated in one of the GA land
lotteries. I don't know why his name didn't show up in my database.
When I last worked on the early Ephraim King of VA (b. 1748) a number of
years ago, I was unable to connect him to my Ephraim King (b. abt. 1785) that
migrated from NC/SC to Lincoln Co. TN around 1815 or earlier.
Another researcher on the Ephraim King line, claimed that his ancestor nam
