Bill, my ggrandfather born Lincoln County supposedly "practiced" dentistry. Probably 1870 or so dentists would not practice the way we see today but wonder where he would have gone to school or do you think he worked with a dentist and learned that way. You may be right about that but I believe there was a medical school there.... This would have been before Marshall County in 1832. My gg- grandfather was Dr. Laban Haislip, son of Laban Haislip and they lived near Cornersville. Judy (GOD BLESS AMERICA)

I'm researching James Randolph b. ca 1834 in Tn. who was married to Rebecca Unknown b. ca 1836 in Tn. They had three children, James Benton, Eurethi (Uretha) and Irena all born in Tn. This family was in Izard County, Arkansas for the 1880 census and by 1886 were in Bollinger County, Mo. Other family members settled in Bollinger County from Lincoln County, Tn. Hi List, I am needing to get a death record for a William Warren who died in Giles Co. in 1900....He was b. and raised in Lincoln Co....Anyway, does anyone know where I can send off for this. I have sent off to the Archives in Nashville, but they dont go back that far, only to like 1906ish...I would really love to know who to get ahold of the death records, if they even kept them, seems like they should, but, I am at a loss as to where to look now...Any ideas? She was the 2nd wife of Milton Simpson Smith born February 14, 1833 in Lincoln Co, TN. I also have a Samuel Hall born June 06, 1828 who married Sarah Ann Henderson born August 05, 1835 in Molina, Lincoln Co., TN. And a Perry Lawson Hall born October 04, 1858 who married Cynthia J. If you are looking for Chapman's there was a Gov. Reubin Chapman in AL who lived in Madison Co. but owned land over a good part of AL. This was in early 1800's to sometime after the war. I Think I have cracked my old brick wall. My Gt.Gt.Grandmother is Susan Elizabeth Reed b.ca.1840 IL., married Joseph Smith b. ca. 1834 in Lincoln Co. Tenn. His parents are Joseph Smith b.N.C. and Mary Merrell b.N.C. I came across the 1850 Franklin Co. Il. Census list and I found: Patsey I believe is my Gt.Gt.Gt. Grandmother!!!! I didn't see 'Taft' listed (could it be called something else?), but here's a site that's pretty useful for locating cemeteries. http://www.topozone.com/ Once you get there, there's a heading on the left called 'Get a Map', and under that you select 'Place name search'. On the next page, you are prompted for your search criteria. I haven't used the 'Name' criteria. I usually just put in the state and county (a list is available after you tab out of the state box) and click on Search. What you get back

Betty, I am looking at it. Had to use the family number to locate them. Its page 11 and 12 on my ancestry.com version. I am finding this census to all be listed as district 2. Maybe that its a federal number for the whole county or a large part of it. Here is what I can see, its a little hard to read this guys handwriting. I would have thought that was Jewell. The woman's name is way hard for me I think this guy wrote with an occasional open topped "A", and it looks like an "i" 2nd letter from the en
