1. Re: Muddy Creek [1]
Dave, I'm not sure if the John Luttrell Meads are the same or not. John Luttrell Mead and Amanda Liles married in Roane County on August 18, 1851 and moved to Missouri where Amanda died in 1881. Amanda was born on January 10, 1834 and there was a 16 year old John Mead and 65 year old Elizabeth Luttrell living with John and Sarah McReynolds in 1850 Roane Co,TN Census. I'm not sure of exact relationship but John W. McReynolds married Melinda M. Luttrell on Oct 15, 1845 and Melinda evidently died you
2. Muddy Creek [1]
Hi all, A friend trying to do me a favor, gave me a note she said had burial info on an ancestor. It simply said "Mead, William, Muddy Creek, Loudon County". To date I have no idea what this means, nor did she write down where she found it. Is Muddy Creek a cemetery? Does that mean he is buried near a creek of that name? William Mead was a veteran of the Revolutionary War and came to Eatons Crossroads, Roane County (present day Loudon), about 1800. He died in 1831. Any info is greatly appreciated. Th

4. TUCK & BRIGHT in Loudon County, TN [1]
My gggrandfather's name was Tobais Black TUCK of Greenback, Tennessee (now in Loudon County, which use to be part of Blount County). He went by the name "Toby". He was born on December 9, 1847 and married Sarah Ann BRIGHT on December 17, 1871. He died January 24, 1922. Does anyone know the parents and/or siblings of Tobais as well as Sarah? Any information would be helpful.
5. Findley, Alexander [1]
I have an almost total lack of information on the family of Robert Eaton Findley, below. I think I know his parents names but I am not sure of that. An elderly cousin told me she thought he came to Fentress County from Louden County shortly before his marriage in 1882. I live in upstate NY and am a long way from relevant census data, but past study had not been very rewarding. If anyone has information on either the Findley or Alexander family I would very much appreciate the help. Descendants of W
6. Re: Lee Green of Loudon Co., TN [1]
Would like help with Lee Green and any of his descendants. I have Lee GREEN b. May 1873 married Eva C GRUBB before 1894. I have as their children Allie, Roger, Laura, Annie, Lela, Bob, King, Lee Jr., Jane and Ola. They were in Lenoir City for the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census. Recently I was in Loudon Co., and tried to call Green's in the phone directory but I could never make a connection with any of these people. Would love to hear from someone that knows the where abouts of some of these c

Muddy Creek is a real place in Loudon County. It is generally known today as MARTEL. William Meade may have lived in Muddy Creek at one time, but he died near Eatons Crossroads. His cemetery has long ago been covered over and farmed for years, and a Grammar school and a middle school have been built on the spot . About 5 years ago, a descendant of his, HARTZEL STEPHENS of Texas and some other relatives, along with the local DAR marked a spot that was agreeable with the school and placed a stone in their

9. Marriage Look-up [1]
Does anyone have access to marriage records for 1894? Looking for George Washington Vinson (b. 15Mar1851 d.12Dec1894) m. Nancy Ann Brackett 5Mar1894, (my grandparents) probably in Loudon County. I'm also wondering if this was a second marriage. I have searched and searched to find something about him, especially who his parents were, but to no avail. I have all of the descendants listed in the family Bible if anyone is interested. Any info will be a great help! Thanks! Ann

Hi Charlie, I've always heard that everybody in this town is related to everybody else and I am beginning to believe it. Is the Mead DAR marker located at Eaton and North Middle School? I just got a reply from my cousin (a descendent of John Luttrell and Amanda (Liles) Mead). Her John Luttrell is the son of William and Polly (Luttrell) Mead. Dave, do you know if this William is a brother of Jason Mead and a son of Rev. Soldier William Mead? Sandy Fine
