Caswell Lincoln Walker, Sr. and a lady with surname of Grayson had a son, Albert Harrison Grayson born ca 1842 in Monreo Co., Tn. I am trying to find the given name of the Grayson lady and her parents. Albert was in N. C., where at the age of 20 enlisted at Buncombe Co., N. C. on June 25, 1861. It seems he remained in N. C. until a late age, removing to Texas, leaving his wife, Eglentine Taylor and children, in N. C. He apparently took the Walker name rather than using Grayson when enlisting. The

I was directed to this site by someone who lives in Tellico Plains. She is part of my Cantrell family who were one of the pioneer families to settle McMinn County. She just purchased my book on them, and suggested that I might find the Monroe County site interesting and she was right! The first thing I found looking over the site is a reference to Coker Creek. 15. [TNMONROE-L] Thanks!!!!! [1]
To Tom and Lynda, Thanks so much. Daniel C. is exactly who I was looking for. Joy - Yes Riley was married to Mary Ann, and he did serve in the civil war along with three of his brothers. I had received census information for 1870 many years ago, but the person who sent it to me did not include that it listed Mary Ann as a widow. Riley was my great grandfather, and my grand father died when I was one, so had no one to talk to about family information. Again thanks to everyone. Connie MILLSAP Ludwig
