Does anyone know of a bookstore or someplace in Murfreesboro or elsewhere in
Rutherford County that might have a copy of Robert Baskin's "History of
Windrow" for sale? I'd like to get a copy of this short book, since I'm
descended from the Windrows and other families that lived in the Windrow
community. Unfortunately, Linebaugh Library is unable to photocopy the
entire book for me, due to copyrig
I have a photo that I took at the Old Courthouse Museum in Vicksburg, MS this
past week. It is of a pair of beaded baby shoes and a needle book. The
caption states: Slave-made beaded baby shoes and needle book made in 1840 in
Rutherford County, Tennessee for Virginia Barksdale Smarr.
I tried submitting it to the list but Rootsweb will not support it. If you
would like the picture email me and I will send it to you.

Joseph Gibson married Margaret Jane Frizzell in Rutherford County, Tennessee
on Jun 24, 1868.
According to what you posted, this appears to be the marriage.
I am not related to this line, but found this so thought I would send it on.

Does anyone know the parents of Mary Ann Reavis/Reeves/Reaves who m. John William Randolph in Maury Co. Tn. 3 Mar 1818; later moved to Pope Co. in the mid 1840's? I've been told that her father was a C.A.Reavis. I have asked the Reavis list at rootsweb and they say they have never been able to connect her to the Reavis line.

GENEAHOLICS' SPOUSES GO TO THE DOGS
by H. David Morrow
Much has been written lately about the tragedy of addiction to
genealogy. While one must pity those afflicted with this malady,
their own disorientation pales when compared to that of those
who must live with geneaholics.
The geneaholic can seek counseling, can join a support group
(often called a Society), and may soon even be able to get into
a 12-step program. There is none of this for the spouse of a
geneaholic.

Can anyone tell me the status on the Rutherford Co. History Book which
was due out in Jan. 2002? I ordered one and have not received mine
yet. Is it just late or did my copy get lost?
Thanks for the help.

If you are responding to my "cry" for help on Samuel Gibson born "somewhere"
in TN around 1879ish... (I have posted so many queries recently that I
cannot keep my work straight!!! Ugh!) I have no idea if the Samuel shown
in the Rutherford Census listing that I attached to my query is "my" Samuel.
I am looking at any Samuel's born in TN around that time frame as a good
possibility - until I get further info to narrow down my search. I have no
first hand records on my Samuel - all info that I do have came
As many of you know I have a brother who is terminally ill. This week, my
dad went to the hospital with what he thought was pneumonia, and found out he

great deal and won't be able to check in every day to see how the mailing

Estelle, I would love to have a copy of the

Try www.abebooks.com. They will find it for you and email you the results.
It might take a while, but their prices are reasonable when they do.

Greetings to the lists,
I am going to be removing myself from all mailing lists. I just ran a virus scan and discovered several new viruses on my computer. I am already emailing several of you through our personal email addresses. If you find or feel that we may have a family link - I would prefer we email on a personal basis rather than through the list.
Thank you,
