You only receive a posting when others on the list post. That doesn't necessarily happen every day....sometimes not even every week, it just depends on where people are in their research.
Usually to get people to post, you need to post and see if there is an interest in your particular line. If someone connects, they may reply to your post.

Hi,
I am still trying to find the parents of my great-grandfather John Jackson
Mays, who was born in White County, TN in 1832. He had a brother Thomas
Mays born around 1833-1835, also in White County, TN. I have checked the
1830 census and found four male Mays living in the county then: Benjamin
Mays and Elijah Mays, neither of whom is a possibility, Robert Mays who
was age 50-60, and John Mays. Robert Mays was a possibility, although he
was a little elderly. Elijah Mays is recorded as havin
Can someone explain why I haven't recvd. ONE posting from White Co., since I
joined (again) a week or so ago? I have my 'welcome' letter after
subscribing so I assumed I did it right??? I had changed servers so
rejoined the list, but nothing has happened. Maybe the list admin. could
check and see if I did something wrong??
Thanks

Hi All,
I am new to the list and I am trying to gather information on the William
Tomlin family. Would anyone know anything about this family? I found them on the
1820 census and where William was on the jury a few times in the 1820's but
have not been able to find anything else on them. Would someone have a list of
marriages from 1809 to 1920 and would William be listed? I have no idea what
year he was married in nor who he married. Any help with this family would
really be appreciated since they hav
I can't do Worley and Underwood-- the closest I can
get is Worley and Gaston. James Worley married Jennet
Gaston about 1830. They seem to be a couple with no
children on the 1830 census. About 1831, John Gaston
gave/sold to his daughter Jennet and her husband James
Worley his land in White Co., Tennessee. I have a
sneaky suspicion that Jennet's mother and John's wife
was Jane Porter, the daughter of John Porter and
Sarah/Sallie LNU. I have this sneaky suspicion
because Jane Gaston signed the sale paper
O.K. you guys, now that everyone is awake again, there HAS TO BE SOMEONE
hanging around out there related to UNDERWOOD AND WORLEY??
Seth Underwood b. abt. 1776 m. Sarah Worley 1-13-1797 Franklin Co., VA and
by 1812 tax records is in White Co., TN They had 2 boys and 3 girls in the
1810 census of VA, then several more in TN. I am looking for the names of
the 2 older boys from VA. I assume they hatched under rocks because I can't
seem to find anything with their names on it.
Also before I make a trip up

Vance's father was John Bennett and his mother was Nancy Smith....Grandpa had a bunch of brothers and sisters ....Montogomery Carrick, M
A gentleman just sent me the Remington Cem. site but was wondering - do they
update this periodically? I have pictures of a couple headstones from there
and none are on the cemetery listing??? 2 died in 1931 and one in 1972.
And I thought I drove Northeast of the library there, not South - the
heading of the list says South of town?? Are there 2 cemeteries? If so
what is the name of the other?
Thanks
