Has anyone traced their Townsends back to England? i have that Abigail Townsend of Taunton,Mass m. Aaron Seekins. about ca. 1750 - supposedly she is the daughter of George Townsend Jr. - who i have nothing on especially regarding a marriage. George Townsend Sr. who removed to Taunton is said to be the son of John Townsend and Eliz. Montgomery. Scott, do you have any information on a John Peter Townsend, born in Indiana about 1855(parents unknown). He married Fannie Francis Pollen. They are my great grandparents, sorry I don't have much on them, they were living in Indep. Co.,Ark in 1893. She was suppose to of been 1/2 Cherokee and was brought to Arkansas and developed T.B. and was so sick she could not be moved.according to family history.any information appreciated. Hello, I am searching for the parents of James (Pat) Patrick Townsend. Pat appears in the 1870 census of Hill County, Texas and the census says he was born in North Carolina. Researching Daniel Townsend born 1819 NC, married Eliza Dixon born 1821 also NC. Family folk lore has it that Daniel and Eliza were cousins. Have checked all census from time frame but of course the old ones don't tell us names of children. Many Dixons and a few Townsend lived in Person County, where I believe both were born. I am looking for information on Mary Townsend. She married William J. Miller on April 28, 1895 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. They had at least one son, Oliver Miller, born January 16, 1898 in Oklahoma, died December 17, 1955 in Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas. Oliver is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.
