Jennifer,
Copies of "A History of the Turner Family" are in the Local
History & Genealogy collection of the Library of Congress and at the DAR
library in Washington, DC. You will have to go to one of those libraries
to look at it. LoC and DAR do no do interlibrary loans on books on
genealogy.
You might also try one of the Mormon Church's stakes libraries.
They have a fabulous collection on genealogy and they make it available to
members and non-members alike.

My GG Grandfather Jonas is in the 1850 census of Johnson County, Missouri
along with his wife Lewhettie, and their children Nicholas, James, William
McDonald, N.H., Mary Elizabeth, Thomas Benton, Malinda Jane, Cornelius,
Jasper, and Serepta Ann. I know from histories left by my G Grandfather,
William McDonald, that in 1853, Jonas and his family migrated to Nevada,
then on to California the next spring. Judging from the fact that Jonas
and Lewhettie made a mark rather than signing the deeds when they sold
