Go to www.findagrave.com In their find a cemetery search I put in "Oaks" in
the US and in Texas. It did come up with a map to the cemetery, off of 59.
It looks like take 59 out of Houston toward Lufkin. Looks like about 2/3 of
the way, the cemetery is off of 59 to the right.

reason the newer versions do not always show the older & smaller

Jose, you received my private reply to you, but I realized afterwards that you were asking for info on the Cemetery. You might want to go into the Texas Historical Commission ATLAS at http://www.thc.state.tx.us/ Click on Atlas, then on Enter the Atlas at the bottom, then on County at the top .... enter Calhoun County and you can read the marker text. If you are especially interested in the application and narrative presented for this marker you may contact the THC Librarian in Austin. As time permits s

I will be visiting Tx in March and am trying to find the
County Road Maps are also very good. The Highway Dept (Texas Dept of
Transportation) has them for every TEXAS county. Here in Houston we can go
to the Highway Dept at 7721 Washington Ave, 77007 713.802-5000. They have
not only Harris Co but all other TX counties as well. Price depends on size
&/or number of maps. Example, Harris Co is in more than one part; other
counties are not. The legend will show symbols for cemeteries, churches,
schools, etc and are extremely helpful. If you want older copies
I don't know if this is any help, but there is a "LONG BOTTOM CEMETERY"
just south of WORTHAM on Cemetery Road just off Highway 14. Going north
toward Wortham, Cemetery Road is on the left hand side.

I'm looking for the Hannah line who lived in Mineole, Wood Co. texas. I'm wondering if any Hannah names appear on markers in the cemeteries around that area. My ggrandfather: William Thomas Hannah b. 1859 Georgia moved to Texas and married Sarah Penelope Elizabeth Swanner Dec 4, 1878. I am trying to locate the parents of William. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Mary Beth, (and everyone on the list.)
Whats even more confusing is that when I last visited in 1996, my friend
Steven Nesmith had no headstone. This listing has his middle name wrong. I
have his birth and death certs and although the dates are right, his middle
name was Wade. I have no idea where they got the name Cochran. That isnt
even his mothers maiden name and there is no connection at all that I knkow
of. This is a genealogists nightmare-wrong cemetery info!

Hi,
There is a Brandon Cemetery located in Hill County, TX east of Hillsboro
and a little south. It is pretty close to the Navarro Co. line.
My GGG-GF William Strom Terry is buried there.
Also Old Brandon Cemetery is just north of Brandon Cemetery. It is not
in good shape but there are still some stones visible.
Hope this helps.

I can tell you this much. Brandon, Texas is off Texas Hwy 22 between Hillsboro and Corsicana. It's not much of a town. No stop lights and I'm not even sure they have a stop sign. Althought they might at the road getting back onto Texas 22.
I travel the road a lot and that's where Brandon, Texas is located. I know where a creek is around that area. Never knew it had a name.
I'll search Navarro County records for you and see if I can find any Brandons. It might be next week before I get it
To Whom It May Concern;
Hope you can help me with some information concerning "BABB" Cemetary in "Val Verde County". When I went in and tried to look for the location of it, I could not find an exact/close location for it, other than it is 2km NE of Langtry, Texas. Is there a way to find out on what Highway, Road, etc. that is located on???
Your time and assistance will be greatly appreciated with this.
Thanks in advance,
Rick Clements
Rick,
I am not familiar with Val Verde County, but I am looking at my Microsoft
Streets and Trips mapping software and I do see a "Babb Cemetery".
Keep in mind that the street and roads I am discribing might have a
different local name.
Take 90 west past Langtry. Turn left on St. Park Road 25 (it is directly
across from Pandale road). The BABB CEMETERY should be directly in front of
you, although the road may wiggle a bit, try to go toward the water (Lake
Amistad Recreation Area). If you get to Torres
Trevia, thank you for all your hard work on this web sites behalf. I would also like the printouts that you have: mjahca@swbell.net
