Good Idea. I would do the cleanup on some myself if I could get them
maintained after.

Greetings, everyone.
I'm TxGENWEB County Coordinator for Hunt and Anderson Coutny, and am Editor
of the Van Zandt News, a newspaper covering Van Zandt County.
This week, I did a story about satanic symbols and damage done at Wesley
Chapel Cemetery in Van Zandt County.
There were only two headstones damaged, but, as the cemetery is mainly rock
and dirt with little grass, there were a lot of satanic symbols and writing
in the dirt.
This is the second or third time in recent memory this has happened at

Hello to all,
I am writing to report the condition of the Cedron Cemetery. It is
located between Meridian and Whitney Dam, TX. I am not sure if it is
Bosque or Hill County.
On highway 22, outside of Hillsboro, going west toward Whitney, turn
North on highway 56, go about 6 miles, it is marked with a small green
sign, and a large one above the cemetery.
I will say there is a very nice fence around the cemetery, but the
cemetery is so overgrown we were afraid to enter it.
Judging from outside the fence,
thank you all for all of your help.

Although I wasn't able to locate John Goff Gordon in the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, I was able to find one of his grandsons, John Alvin "Nookie" Gordon buried in plot 3 0 1092. And to this I owe each and everyone of you that responded to my plea. Thank you very much. As usual, ya'll are a great bunch of people.

The Boys Scouts do service projects several times a year. If you can contact a local group, you may be able to enlist their help in getting it cleaned up. It would also be good for the younger generation to do this to understand the need for the respect of these cemeteries.

It is in Bosque County. You might contact Elizabeth Torrence, County Chair
for the Bosque County Historical Commission, to see if she knows of anyone
locally who may be interested in this cemetery. She can be reached at

Good luck!

Hi there hoping someone can help. Someone told me to ask this question, and
I hope someone can help me because I am planning to visit a cemetery
tomorrow. I wanted to know about "grave witching", where two metal rods are
used to determine if there is a body buried. We are planning to dig a site
and my gut feeling says it's a cemtery even though there are no markings.
Please email me privately, so I don't clog up the mailing list, but I hope
someone can answer because I am going later on this after

Rebecca, I don't know how this came to me, maybe a glitch in the way the
reply works. I don't know the Mortons either.
