Allen, I was under the impression, that this cemetery is opn to the public, and under the laws in Texas, you can go in any cemetery and take picturers and log the cemetery. Am I mistake?? I don't think so.

For those of you interested in Bell County cemeteries, here is an
announcement I recently posted on the TXBELL about an upcoming inventory
workday for Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Anyone who would like to help
out would certainly be welcome. This large cemetery (84 acres) is
really popular on information requests. Hillcrest Cemetery predates the
City of Temple and has a Confederate section. Please drop Mary Lou a
note if you would like to volunteer.
Thanks!

hi, Allen and lists memebers
I have photographed many cemeteries and have NEVER had anyone compain about the photos i have online.
i have even been asked by some of the small cemetery care takers in scurry county if they can use the photos and listings as a reference to folks requesting records.
sometimes i get emails if i missed a marker and they want their loved ones included.
is this a private cemetery?
you would think they have an admission fee for visitors or you have to check in at t
Sorry Rick. I have never taken a cent for researching or photographing Cemetery Records. I have all the pictures I'm taking free on my web site. I have never been reimbursed for out of pocket expenses or gasoline either. I do have ads on my web site but they have never produced a cent for me. If they ever do, I'd like to upgrade my camera.
I am not a lawyer or genealogist. I am doing what I can to add to the body of knowledge available to genealogists. I owe them for producing all the free reco
I'm working on updating the Texas Saving Graves page to include all current
state cemetery law no matter how it may apply it a given situation.
I've added quite a bit more to the page so far, but there is a long way to
go on it.
Need to take a break as my son is demanding the computer for an hour or so
to play a game :)

I'm no lawyer, but if I'm not mistaken cemeteries are open to the public,
birth and death dates of individuals departed from this world are public
records, no one has the right to restrict a person from carrying a camera
onto the grounds of a cemetery and most of all...... I've never heard of the
nonsense Mr. Drake is posting in his email.

I will be out of town on October 6, 2002 but would dearly love to receive pictures of tombstones in Crown Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at the intersection of Webb and Lombardy just north of Love Field.
I am unable to get access to the cemetery to complete the set of pictures I began a few weeks ago. Long story short, I was thrown out for taking pictures of non-relatives graves.
You can send the pictures to me at CrownHill@teafor2.com and I will post them on http://teafor2.com

Is this the same one???

Maybe the info Lynna acquired needs to be forwarded to Mr. Drake.
I can only imagine how horrible he must be making this sound to the poor
grieving relatives of the deceased. It seems to me he may be causing a lot
more heartache to the grieving relatives, than a photo on the internet
would. Is he saying to the grieving relatives, "This another way to
memorialize and pay tribute to the deceased person's life?" Is he saying,
"This is a wonderful way for the relatives who live far away to "visit" and

This is the restriction I am working under. I cannot even enter the cemetery to find out what graves are there. I think it'll be easier if those that can enter the cemetery take their family's gravestones pictures and I'll post them.
