Looking for Albert Montes, born in Texas. This is what I have: his daughter, Macario b. 1894 Mexico and a son from first marriage, 2nd marriage 3 boys: Pete, Esario, Lehino (just guessing on spelling), and an unknown girl.
(Macario and husband Natalio Contreras located in Parker Co. TX in 1920 census)
Thanks for looking for my needle in a haystack! LINDA
Would like to obtain the 1920 census information for George Hartvig
Gublransen Gilbert, and his wife Marie Christian, do not have date of birth
or location. TIA

The husband could have been using the name Gilbertson or Gublransen, he and
his parents were born in Norway as I believe his wife was also. Their son
Roy Herman, born Nov. 9, 1921 in Brooklyn. They were not found in the NY
census. Could you try the 1930 census for Harrison County?

Peter,
Miller males in the 1920 US census for Howard County, Texas, who were born
1911-1913 are:
Cyrus (son of Conn and Mary)
Robert (son of Walter and Cora)
Joel (son of Walter and Cora)
Cecil (son of Ben F. and Liny)
I also don't find him indexed in 1930 Howard County, nor a death record for
him in Martin or Howard County. Did he go by another name?

I would like the census information for John A. Lee, age unknown, and his
wife Annabell, born abt 1906/07 in Hayes or Travis County,Texas. They were
married in Travis County in 1922. Probably have children in 1930.
Thank you,

Hello, all friends and experts.
This couple are my GGP, who had several children born in the Mexia area, or
else in the Leon Co. area, where they lived, earlier, after they arrived
from Alabama, in ca. 1867-'69.
They might appear in the 1870 census in Leon Co., but I am not sure of the
exact time when they arrived there from Alabama.
After the 1880 census, George died in ca. 1881 of a 'fever epidemic', and
Nancy also suffered the illness at that same time, but she lingered on, for
about two years, wh
Hi Linda,
Thank you for the prompt and very clear response to my questions the board
is in very capable hands with you as "Auntie" and Maureen as "Working

of Ancestry My Family.Com (which I have a subscription to as well) and thus
Roots web, and thank you for also sharing the Heritage Quest rules and
regs. I know I bent the share rule when I used that feature to send

Hi Art,
Do you need his WORLD WAR I DRAFT REGISTRATION CARD RECORD or his

Sorry, Gloria.
I don't find this fellow indexed in 1870 Texas. Try the California list,
maybe? I think I saw the name in a couple of census years in California as
a single man prospecting for gold. Not sure that's who you're looking for,
but I wasn't able to find anybody who looked promising in Texas at all.

Hello, Linda.
Thanks for your reply!! I have no idea that Nancy was able to get
'formal' records created for her children, but there were several SANDERS
and other families of kin, who had also migrated from Alabama, and other
areas, of the eastern seaboard states.
I do have the names of the children, but I must 'dig' that info out of my
recent packages which had to be moved in a household move I just completed.
It will be a few days before I 'discover' where they are, and can tell you
the entire list.
Trying to find census listing for Hezekiah Rogers/Rodgers, born ca. 1861/1862 in Texas. Other than the fact that he was in CA by 1926, I know nothing else about him. Thank you.
Joe,
Orphaned children, and also those whose father only was deceased, were often
"bound" to other families in the neighborhood who were financially capable
of feeding and clothing them until majority. Some of those folks were kind
and good people who treated these unfortunate children as their own, and
often adopting them. Others were not so caring or downright cruel, and
treated the children badly.
In either case, there should be legal documents in the county court records
of the proceedings which bou

Maureen is the official "list mom" for the TX census lookup list, but
because she is back in school and working full-time, has asked that I lend a
hand on her lists, so I will answer now as the "list auntie". If she has
anything to add, she will as soon as she has a chance. I am old and
easily-addled, so she may have much to add and/or correct.

Dear Becky,
Thank you so very, very much for the information on the Shackleford girls
and their families. It was so kind of you. Now I have the children's names

a blessing you are to so many. I hope all your good deeds triple and come
