The General Land Office (Bureau of Land Mgt.) web site below allows you to search by surname for the original land patent document transfering land from the govt. to the first owner. You can view a copy of the actual document, and save it to disk and print it on your printer. Don't be intimidated by the initial messages on the web page that says new fees are in effect.
