1. Re: [TXBASTRO] 1902 MARY EAVES DEATH [1]
I can check Bastrop Co. tax records for an EAVES who owned property. If he did, it would also show how long he was in the county. I can do that in town, possibly tomorrow. If he's on the tax rolls, I can check Bastrop Co. deeds at the courthouse, but that will have to be after July 4th. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Randa Eaves" To: Sent: Friday, June 13, 2003 4:54 PM Subject: [TXBASTRO] 1902 MARY EAVES DEATH > I am researching our EAVES/EVES family lin
2. [TXBASTRO] History of McDade Book [1]
Just a heads up in case someone has been trying to find a copy. Someone is selling a copy of the History of McDade on www.ebay.com. I don't know who they are and am not affiliated with them. I just do most of my shopping on ebay and usually look to see what area items might be listed. There is also a bottle from the Miley pharmacy. It's pricey though. Item # 3529759961
3. [TXBASTRO] Bastrop Cemetaries [1]
I have a family of seven - Eufinger - who arrived in Bastrop in 1846 from Germany. They were Catholic. They supposedly farmed and one son taught school. They next show up in St. Louis in 1850 with 2 missing. Where could I find a list of cemetaries in the area dating back to this period? Any thoughts or ideas on epidemics in this period? Where could I find any information on schools in the area at this time. I am afraid I do not know much about Bastrop during this period. Any help or advice is gre
4. [TXBASTRO] 1902 MARY EAVES DEATH [1]
I am researching our EAVES/EVES family line and have come to a real brick wall. The furthest back I can find reference to our Eaves family is in the 1900 Bastrop TX census. Because the mother of this family (MARY EAVES) reportedly died in 1902, all of the children were "farmed" out by their father to any neighbor who would take them. The oldest child, Sedrix was 8 and remembered his father's name as JOHN EAVES and mother's name as MARY ROBERTSON. We have not been able to verify either. The 1900 Bastro
5. [TXBASTRO] Brooks [1]
I really enjoyed those newspaper clippings and found a house supposedly built in the 1840's by a Major Brooks. I've never heard of him before, but in the FIRST SETTLERS OF BASTROP COUNTY, TEXAS (Land claims/unconditional > certificates), there is > #196 Heirs of E. S. Brooks No. 80 Bastrop County > When: July 11, 1838 > Class/Acres: 2/640 > Unconditional Issued: August 21, 1848 > > Does anyone know more about this man/his family? > > Michele Brooks

Donna, Texas did not have birth or death records until 1903 and some counties did not comply until about 1910. Have you contacted the County Clerk for a look up of the marriage records they are very helpful. 13. Re: [Bastrop County, Texas] Colorado Chapel & marriages [1]
You might put in a request at www.findagrave.com for a volunteer to get photos of the graves if there are stones available to photograph. I've both requested and fulfilled photo requests there. Great group of volunteers work on that site and the response is usually pretty quick. Vital records for the years you mention are probably not available in Bastrop County. However, the marriage indexes are online at the Bastrop County Genweb site and you might get lucky. Bastrop was one of the earliest counties

Good evening: I am seeking the burial sites of John McGhee Eggleston 1835-1884 and his two sons Zylpha Wesley Eggleston 1867-1875 and William Benjamin Eggleston 1871-1875. I note both sons died in the same year. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Mary in Alaska

I have just discovered family members Louisa P and William M Emmerson (died 1921 and 1942) that were buried in this cemetery. Are there photos online anywhere of this particular cemetery? I am working on my lineage for Daughters of the Republic of Texas. I have been unable to find a marriage record for Robert B Owen and Mariah (Flint) Fowler, 1843 in Bastrop County, or birth record for Frances LouVenia Pitts Oct 8, 1866 in Bastrop County or a death certificate for Mariah (Flint) Fowler Owen

18. [TXBASTRO] What's new on the Bastrop County website [1]
Check out the 1914 to 1915 vehicle registrations. I found a journal in the basement of the courthouse with these entries. The first sets of numbers do not have dates with 1914 being the earliest with a date. It is possible that the ones without dates are earlier in the 1914 year. From the main page, take the link about vehicle registration. 1860 census images. I've been uploading for several weeks now and don't have all the images online yet. So if you look at the index and your person is on pa
