Does anyone know what the closest Bed and Breakfast is closest to the Bastrop High School. I don't even know if that's the Bastrop HIghschool, but it has an Erhard Football field on campus.....
I was hoping someone on here knew

Where might I find a marriage record from 1902-1905. I
am searching for the marriage record of John Joseph
Lehman and Rosa Kierce. They lived in Bastrop County,
Texas but some of the family had baptisms and
marriages performed in Frelsburg at the Catholic
Church and the Lutheran Church. I have gone through
the Frelsburg church records online and have found
nothing. I have also gone through the Bastrop County
Marriage Records and found nothing.
His first marriage was in 1883 in Bastrop County to
Ida Spire.

Erhard Field is at the 1600 block of Hill and not the 1200 block. I looked at the wrong campus but it is still about the same distance from that B & B on Buttonwood and Hill. I drove by both of the B & B mentioned and I'll have to say though that the Pecan B & B appears to be much better kept. Hope this doesn't offend someone. Just my visual opinion.

Hi Denise thanks. I saw that site last night but was unsure which one was
closer. Thanks so much for letting me know.
Bastrop has some of the most beautiful homes especially the older ones. I
could walk around all day just looking.
Thanks again so much. Lisa

The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce website (www.bastropchamber.
The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce website (www.bastropchamber.com) lists only 2 B & B's in the city limits of Bastrop. The closest one to Erhard Field is Buttonwood Row Bed & Breakfast at 1402 Hill Street, Bastrop (512)-303-5664. This would be in walking distance to Erhard Field. Erhard Field is located on the 1200 block of Hill and Cedar St. I know nothing about the quality of this B & B.
The other one in town is not in walking distance but not very far if driving (just about 6 or 7 blocks away). I
Thanks Annette. I went to the Texas Handbook and it gave a great
explanation of the German Methodist Church. Actually it was regular
Methodist just had services in German for so many German settlers. They
also had services in Spanish. I just haven't gotten by the church to see if
there are records for that period. I do know they have the early Methodist
records from Hills Prairie. I believe the town records begin in early
1900's.

This is good to know about Rutersville College. John Rabb is one of my ancestors. I was wondering if there are any known pictures of the college. Thanks Annette

helpful responses.
I found their marriage record in Guadalupe County in

Gene you have to click on the number below to see the section of the map
above.
Aso when it does come up left click on the mouse and a little box with
arrows should come up on the bottom right corner click on it and it will
make that section of the map and it should enlarge a little more.
Good luck...number 2 is McDade...and some parts are unreadable but most of
it is.
I want to see a 1860 and 1870 and 1880 now...maybe the Land Office would
have one over in Bastrop....any ideas?

Does anyone know how long the German Methodist Church operated in Bastrop. I am interested in years 1870-1909. I know the church existed in 1900 because the pastor, G. Doerr's name was in the Advertiser pages that Tammy has downloaded for us all to use.
Does anyone know where I might find the records for this church?. I assume it is entirely different from First United Methodist Church. Did the German Methodist Church merge with another church?
Thanks,
Anne Beck
Ann,
I too would like to see the old presinct maps. One of my ancestors was a commissioner for Precinct 4, D. G. Kincaid, full name David Greer Kincaid. He and his family owned land in Bastrop and Caldwell Counties and left there for Borden County, TX in 1889 in the Kincaid Wagon Train with his brother James and families and some neighbors. One son of D G by the name of Valerius or Valerian Palestine Kincaid who had married Ida Reid whose family was prominent in farming around Delhi which is about 5 miles
Does anyone know of such a map (for the 1860+ period)? In the censuses it refers to Precinct 7 and 8. As far as I know there are only 4 judicial precincts now. Where were 5, 6,7,and 8? I know that Precinct 4 was around Elgin as it still is today.

They have a lot of different Bastrop Maps. Thanks for the website links LL
