The consolidated list and pico search don't work very well. Is that
ancestry's doing?

Tammy do you think they are just not transferingTexas towns? Does Genforum
plan to be taken down eventually? People still post there.
Thanks for the info I've sent the message to Betty even though every single
time I ask she says to ask you it's soooooooo frustrating. I'll wait and see
what she says. Your email is gmail that's why I couldn't get a hold of you.
Did you change your cell number too?
Also I still have about 900 pictures of courtdocs not up yet can you handle
them
You might want to email Audrey Rother she's from the Morgan line. She does
have quite a bit of info. If you don't have her email try to McDade website
I put the museum's email as the contact and they will make sure she gets it.

Hi Lisa,
Good to hear from you. I don't have anything, such as admin rights, to the
McDade site, so I can't help much.
If you go to Rootsweb, then Help and look for passwords, there are
instructions there. I'm not sure what you use to upload files but I FTP and
it isn't dependent on my email address.
Also, most states are fleeing from the rootsweb server because Ancestry
bought them out and they are all setting up sites on new servers. Bastrop is
so big I haven't finished the move yet. You might want to
Genforum is OK.
It's usgenweb and each state/county site that's moving. Well most of them.
I don't ever turn my cell on unless I remember to when I'm in the car. Just
carry it in case of emergencies.
I'd love the court docs. It's going to be winter so no more outside time and
lots of time to catch up on contributed documents, pictures, etc and get my
act back together.

Rex, I know a lot about the Morgan family and James H. Gillespie
(related to me) that lived with the Morgan family in early Bastrop. I'd
love to discuss what you know as well.

The sites that have moved should have a page at the original usgenweb site
that has a link to the new site.
For instance, when I move everything I will have a welcome page with an
"ENTER" button that will take you to the new place. So most won't even
notice, except if they had bookmarked a particular page at the old site.
There is another change and that is ancestry has put the word ancestry
behind rootsweb, like www.rootsweb.ancestry.com so some of your old
bookmarks might not work unless you put the .ance
Ancestory is better I just wish they would make it as easy as genforum...

I was reading your reply to Lisa. Will we still be able to access the state
sites as we have in the past, or will we need to do something to adjust to
the new system?

Greetings;
I'm new to this, but I am looking for any and all info on a JOHN DAY MORGAN of Bastrop County. I have Texas historical data that verifies family history that I have, but I would like to know more about the man that lived there with his wife Rebecca and family. I know he was the first member of the Methodist church there in Bastrop. Anyone with any info, please let me know. THANKS
A living descendant...Rex A. Willoughby, Sr.
