Hello All,
My name is Lois Kennedy and I live in Alvin, Tx. I am willing to
help anyway I can as a volunteer, doing lookup or taking pictures in
cemeteries. My only real connection to Brazoria Co., is that I have lived
here since 1981 and the fact I had 2 sons graduate from AISD.
Lois
Does anyone have any ties to the surnames:
Stephens
Childs/Chiles
Thomas
Hughes
Rhodes
Please see my tree online at : http://www.jprhodes.com/Family/WC_TOC.htm
Please let me know if anyone can help!
Thank you,
-Charlotte Rhodes
My question does not even require a trip out of your house, but simply a
local phone call. I want to get a copy of my gr-grandfather's death
certificate, and need to know HOW MUCH to send the County Clerk's Office
when I request it. Could you please call them and ask? (He died in 1907).
I would certainly appreciate it. I know that he died near Velasco in
Brazoria County and that his body was shipped home to Kaufman County for
burial.
Thank you
Jan Turner

Good morning Lois,
I would appreciate you looking up the name of
NESBITT in the marriage book. Sorry
I cannot be more specific, CLUTE may be the
location so will take any place any name. Thanks.
Sue
Listers,
This morning I recieved this request so I am sending it and my
reply to the list, hopefully there is another cousin out there that can
connect with Trudie. Please send the requests to the list, that way we can
maybe help more people, I always read my mail, so I think it would generate
more interest in our Mail List.

Sorry, Sue, there wasn't either a bride or groom listed, but then
it is a short time span 1829 to 1844. I even checked in my Liverpool History
book, and did find one Nesbit listed, but he, Wiley "Buck" Nesbit, was mayor
of Liverpool from 4/5/1982 to 4/5/1983, so do not think he is the one you
were looking for. If you think he might be a part of your line, send private
email and I will send you the phone number I found in the local phone book,
which BTW belongs to a nesbit the 3rd.

Hi Lois!
You are so generous to offer your help like this. I do have a request for
you, but please don't make a special trip; combine it with other requests,
etc.
My Brazoria Co. connection is mainly through Ohlhausens (Schmidts are in
their, too, but they are all buried in the Alta Loma Cemetery). I would
really appreciate some headstone pictures, unfortunately I am not sure which
cemetery they are buried in (maybe both?), so when you are out and if you
happen to see any Ohlhausens, just snap a p
Listers,
Me again, I thought I would mention I have a couple of books I
could so look-ups in if anyone wants one. First I have;
Brazoria County
Republic of Texas
Marriage Records
1829-1844
also
The History of Liverpool, Tx and It's people.
To the best of my knowledge there is not (yet) a good history of the
Alvin area, but there is a great website from the Brazoria County Historical
Society, well I have really messed that up, can't find my favorite places,
but it is listed on C
