Would any one know if there is a Death index for Collins County or for Princeton, TX? I am searching for Martha Elizabeth BERRY Born Jan. 10, 1863 Died Dec 2, 1928-Princeton, TX I think she was buried in Princeton also. Would anybody have a list of cemetaries in this area? My grandfather,Johnathon Jefferson Daniels, husband to Martha, is supposably buried in Farmersville, but no one can locate his grave site. I am posting this to all - assuming this is general information of value to many: 1)There are death records since 1903 of anyone with a death certificate in Collin county. 2)There are several reels of microfilm (one location is at the Harrington Library in Plano) which index the deaths in the state of Texas and include date, county and certificate number. 3) Minnie Pitts has a 2 volume book information to follow which lists the cemeteries and any headstones found in 1972 when the book was done, . > The r

Thanks Bob, I believe everyone you named from cemeteries are relatives. My husbands father fought in War World II . Were you the one who said you had books with the people from Collin Co. who served in the war? If so could you look and see if my father-in-law is in the book. I can give you most of the information you ask for . I have been reading the Collin Co. mailing list for a couple of months and everyone on it was always helpful so I decided to give it a try. I am researching the family of James Barnes Bell b. April 19,1850 in GA. d. May 1, 1933 in Hale Co. TX. m. Mary Jane Renison Nov. 17, 1870 in Collin Co. TX. James's parents were Wm. Bell and Elizabeth Barnes. Wm. Bell d. before 1868. Elizabeth married John Yarnell Sept.13,1868 in Collin Co. TX. James had 4 sisters Cathy, Anna, Emma and Sarah. Emma married June L. Baker . One of his sisters married A.C.Spencer and Sarah married ? Warwick. James had a half brother Enos Yarnell b. abt. 1871 in Collin Co. TX .

For what it's worth, there is a Martha E. Berry 3-16-1836 to 8-15-1912 buried at Allen Cemetery, Allen, TX. Allen is just a few miles from Princeton. Your Jonathan J. and Martha are buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville about eight miles east of Princeton. The name is spelled Daniel. This information comes from the two vol set of cemetery inscriptions by Alice Pitts, Wanda O'Roark, and Doris Posey, published in 1975. The set is still available and is recommended for nay one searching Collin
