You can also order whole rolls of microfilm of the Texas Death Index, but
they are about $15.00 a roll. I agree that a printed copy of the listings of
your surnames is invaluable. Sometimes several surnames you are interested in
appear on one roll.
I should point out that many types of index the Texas State Library has in
its possession are available for purchase as microfilm, such as Tax Rolls,
Voter Registration, Censuses, and the Texas Death Index.
Here is the link to their website ---->
Can someone help me? Is it possible to find out whether a woman got married
or died in Texas without knowing the county she lived in? I suspect my
long-lost relatives moved from Sumner County, TN to Texas around 1855, but
cannot locate them. I can find no record of the daughters of this
gg-grandfather getting married in Tennessee, so I suspect they moved to Texas
and got married there. Samuel Higgason (S.H.) Adams had two sons who joined
the Texas Calvary during the Civil War and I suspect these t

Death certificates were required in Texas in 1903 as were birth certificates. Why don't you check this site for possible help: http://www.imagin.net/~tracers/texas.htm

You probably will not be able to get a death certificate for someone
who died in 1906 in Texas because the were not required at that
time, in fact I think there are none at all. As to a birth cartificate in
1938 you could write to the County Clerk of Fannin County, Bonham,
TX (I do not know the ZIP), include a SASE and they will tell you if
that have it and the price. Usually in Texas Birth and Death Certificates
can be gotten in the county where they originate from the
County Clerk or from the Texas Bure

Not in Texas. Just the name and as much info to dates as you can give. The
parents names will help you get the right one if there are several
possiblities.
I do find that the birth records at the county level are different and often
have a little more info than at the state level. Sometimes things are written
around the edges and some periods of time the certificates have more room and
slots for more information that the state doesnt ask for.. Also the state often
doesnt have the amendments if a certificate
Hi all , I am needing help .
I have tried to order death certificates for Lemuel Lock(e) and his son
Columbus but according to Texas , they have no death records on either man .
I got the dates and places 2nd hand from a distant Cousin so I do not know
how accurate this info is , but it seems the dates must be wrong if Texas
Vital Stats says they can not locate a death record for them . Gets kinda
costly because Texas keeps the money for the search even if no record is
found :(
I am wondering if

You can email
This reaches the Genealogy Collection at the TX State Library and Archives
Commission. Give them your dates of death, etc. and they will search the
death indexes for you and email back with the death certificate number if
they have it. There is

I hope I haven't missed much in the way of Williams research...
Some time ago you told me you had information on several families of
Williams...it seems that the BRUCE SULLIVAN WILLIAMS I was looking for was
not the right person...it should have been MADISON F. WILLIAMS.
This family were in White Co.,TN for the 1850 Census.... a child was born in
Fannin Co in 1852 and one in 1859...
Mad
You would not have to have their parents' names. I am sorry I overlooked
that part of your message.
