I forgot to tell you also that I have an uncle that lives near Mule Shoe in
West Texas and I noticed a sign there that proclaims Lee Horsley is their
home town boy. I think he use to play a Private Detective on TV or something
like that.

Hi Nan,
Minnie Bell Knight and my grandmother were sisters. I may be able to help
you on the Knight side and a few generations of Lewis ancestors. I would
like to have a copy of the photo of Uncle Lewis. I knew him in both Bonham
and Sherman. How do you connect to the Lewis line? I have a few
generations of Lewis's descendants.

My Great-Grandfather, John Henry Williams, died in Fannin County in 1909. He was a Civil War veteran and may have died of complications from a war wound. Does anyone know if there was a hospital or home for Confederate Soldiers where he might have been treated and/or died? If so, is there a way to get the records? I am looking for a death certificate and/or obituary. Thanks for any help.

Hi Chuck:
I am finally back on my feet again (had surgery on my left knee Tuesday),
and will be going to the library this week. Is there anything else you
might need or want while I am there. I think the Irving library has the
Fannin census from 1850 to 1920.
Just let me know.

Susan LAIR, married Andrew Jackson Lovelace about 1855 in Bonham, Fannin, TX
A. J. was born 1833 to Charles M. and Rebecca Morrow Lovelace in Rowan

children in the family were born in Greene County, IL.
A large family group of Lovelaces were in IL until about 1850 when most left
for Texas. Although there are not too many LAIR names, perhaps the dates and
locations will be clues you can use.

Jan,
In looking at Fannin Co marriages, it looks like 3 Lair sisters married
3 Lovelaces. Check out http://www.imagin.net/~tracers/fanninmgsli.htm
Susan, Louisa, Angeline/Angelina may all be daughters of Younger Lair
from Barren Co, KY. I believe my James F. Lair is related to and maybe
the brother of Younger Lair of Barren Co, KY.
Thanks for the info.
