Franklin Pierce MORGAN attended Granbury High School/College in 1874, being listed as the first recepient of the "Best Disclaimer" award that year http://www.granburydepot.org/hale/GranburyCollege1873to1901.htm. If I have his birth date correct he would have been born in Coosa County, AL, in about 1859, and approx 16 years of age at the time. Family lore has the family moving to Commanche County, TX in after 1866. He is shown

There are more than 1400 land ownership maps covering over 1000 counties in 46 states in the Geography and Map Division of the Library of Congress. I checked the Hood County Civil Fee Record ledger, September 1893 - March 1898. Page 147 is the record for Smith Wallace Shoe Company vs Bush & Morgan, action for debt. The entire page is filled with entries of payment of various fees associated with the case. Apparently the case was in progress in 1894 and 1895. There was also an entry in Jurors Time Book for "Picked up Jurors in Smith Wallace vs Bush & Morgan, __ November 1894". No info about the case except the listing of fees paid and time book entry.
