Dear Marylee,
Part of my family is from Panola County and I'm wondering what information you might have in subject book that could help me out.
Would you please check on the name "Carrington" to see if there are entries for them? I'd really appreciate it.
I searched for the book on Google and couldn't find it so can't ask my library to order it for me via inter-library loan. I presume it's a privately published book, now.

My Great Grand parents lived there, and my Grandfather Middlebrooks was born there, this family moved to Jack Co., TX. My family is Middlebrooks (it may have the s on the end and may not), the other name is Jarrell, my Great Grand Mother was a Jarrell, she had family that had moved to the panola area.
Thanks

The surname Hooper appears on 36 different pages in the book. So, which
Hooper are you needing info about? If you know the surname of who they
married, or the approximate year in which they married that also helps
me find it in a shorter time.

The book I have is "Marriage Records of Panola Co TX 1846 - 1912"
I don't mind doing a lookup for someone in it unless it is some surname
like Smith or Jones. The index to the book lists a surname and all the
pages on which that surname appears. You get into the super common
names and that turns into a very time consuming process.

How interesting that you mentioned the Jarrell family. I am currently
trying to put together a genealogical index for Zion Hill Cemetery, just
over in the eastern edge of Rusk Co. There are several of the Jarrell
family buried there.
There is a William J. Jarrell buried there who was born 27 Apr 1849 in
GA and died 14 Nov 1924 in Rusk Co. He had three wives I know of, all
of whom are also buried in Zion Hill. The 1st was Martha R. Crow, the

Marylee, Thank you! That is such helpful information. I did not
realize they were just 170 ft away. It is great when someone who
knows the area can help out with this kind of information for people
like me so far away from Texas. I will rewrite that family data part
now that I know this. It was a very important point.
Transcriptions for Old Williamson Cemetery have an error. They list a
C.L. Houston buried there. It is C.I. for Cicero Irvin Houston, the
husband of Martilla Warren Houston and father of the John S. Houston
below. C.I. Cicero Irvin Houston is the lone Houston grave in this
cemetery because he had a relationship with the Williamson family
(see below):
