What are their names? We have a fairly new Gomez book, and older Johnson
Community book, and then the 1964 (or thereabout) issue of the Early Settlers of
Terry County. The Gomez book is fairly new and quite full of oldtimers names.
It includes many people who wound up in Brownfield after Brownfield became
county seat.
If you can give me some names, perhaps I can fi
I believe we are all on the same wavelength here. I've posted several times
and still no help. Maybe now it will get up an running. I'm looking for
anyone that knows about Percy Johnson,Charlie L. Johnson or Alma Johnson

Hello Betty and David,
I live in Baytown, Tx. and I just joined this list last week. I think I
have seen one e-mail before ya'lls. I don't know if anybody knows of
the list. I am very active on the Red River County list which has most
of my husband's family. People are always contributing information and
helping with lookups on it.
Terry County has not been updated since Jan. 1998, and perhaps that is
why there is little action on it. I guess Wanda Lovell is still the
sponsor. I may look around loc
Hi, Betty. Thank you very much for your offer. What I would like to know
the most is the death date of my cousin, Ricky Brigance, son of Nelson Lee
and Barbara (Miller) Brigance. He is buried in the cemetery there.
Henry Ferrell and wife Vivian Esther (Nelson) Brigance moved to the area
in the 1930's. There were already some of my grandfather's (H.F.) brothers
living there. My grandparents farmed there for many years and eventually
moved into town on Cardinal street. My grandfather's second w
Hi List!!!
I'm new to this list so I hope I'm not stepping on toes to list a query right
away?
I am Looking for a woman whose name was Necia or Banisha Harris. She married
a man named Bennett and had a daughter named Maye. She then married a man
named Holman and had a son named Thomas Holman, She then married a man named
John William Powers and had a daughter named Rosa E. Powers in 1892 in Creek
County, OK. I have no other information other than that it is believed that
she may have been from Brown
Hello, Terry. I would say it is not an active list as I've been subscribed
for several months and have seen little correspondence. I have asked the
same question twice and never received a reply from anyone. My grandparents
and a first cousin are buried there. My father and his brother (and his
wife) grew up in Terry Co. I was born there.
I hope that I am wrong, but I haven't seen any replies to any questions.
Sometimes, people don't want to answer questions because they would rather

Hello,
I just discovered this list and I would like to know how many people are
subscribed. I am currently writing/editing/compiling the new Terry
County History book for the Terry County Historical Society. I
certainly hope this list is active!

Hello! It's good to hear from you both. I considered adopting the
list, but my hands are full with the Terry County History Book and two
elderly Mothers, ages 89+ and 91+. I don't think I can take on any more
volunteer work even though I *am* online at least twice per day.
James Robert or Robert James Strickland sounds familiar. I'll ask
around. I went to school with a Robert Strickland in the 50s. He was a
very nice looking young man who had a mischievous personality. Everyone
liked him. I don't k
