1. Re: [TXWILSON] Baty Family [1]
I have photos of every headstone in Nockenut Cemetery posted online at http://www.edwardhayden.com/gallery/nockenut Unfortunately I have not had time to properly label each stone so that it is searchable. Photos were taken from first row - left to right - to the last row. Some group shots were taken along the way to aid in locating the stones in the cemetery. Is there anyone who can tell me how I can get a copy of this report? I have checked online but though there are other ones transcribed that one isn't. It is wonderful having "TXWILSON" so active again. I miss the messages when everyone is so quiet:) Blessings!!!! There was a Palace cafe in Falls City but I don't remember one in Poth. I can ask my sister tomorrow, she works in Poth. ----- Original Message ----- From: "George & Jeri Bawden" To: Sent: Sunday, February 04, 2007 11:42 PM Subject: Re: [TXWILSON] Gravesite Photograph > Thank you both for the response, I used to get lost in the Mall until my > daughter in law said "down the stairs to Mervyns up the stairs to > Sears":))) > > My family was Grier/Losoya and t

Thank you both for the response, I used to get lost in the Mall until my daughter in law said "down the stairs to Mervyns up the stairs to Sears":))) My family was Grier/Losoya and they lived on Rancho Grier somewhere in the middle of the area around Poth and Floresville. The Rancho isn't there any more and I have found very few Griers. My great grandmother Refugia Losoya was married to Nathaniel Mallon, one of the first Texas Rangers and a member who was injured but escaped from the Mier Expedition
7. [TXWILSON] 1899 Obituary [1]
Does anyone know if there are regular obituaries in newspapers in 1899 Wilson County? My great grandmother, Refugia Losoya Grier, died on 29 April 1899. I have been trying to look at old newspapers but they mainly seem to have famous people. Thanks for what each of you are doing to help!!!!! 9. [TXWILSON] Baty Family [1]
Hello Wilson Co., I am seeking any information available on the Baty Family. John Wesley Baty, Jr. died in Stockdale in 1943 and is buried in the Stockdale Cemetery. On his death Certificate he is listed as a "Night watch man." and it is also stated that he has lived in Stockdale for 35 years. John's mother was Elizabeth Ann Baty and she died in Stockdale during 1919 and she is also buried in the Stockdale Cemetery. John Wesley Baty, Sr. died in 1916 and is buried in the Pitman Cemetery, Muld

Would someone please tell me where Poth is in relation to Floresville? Is it near Stockdale? Maps are a bit deceiving. Is there a cafe in Poth? My family cemetery is near there. It is not one that is usually listed. Also, does anyone know who I would contact to give information about the cemetery? A wonderful friend took pictures there a year and two months ago. She said it would be fine to post them but I have no idea how to go about doing that. Thanks!!!! Jeri Alessandro Bawden ----- Original

I am working near Stockdale, within 40 miles or so. Tell me the details and names and I should be able to go take the photos for you. No charge. I believe I can do it during this next week although I could be as late as next Saturday morning depending on my work load. I live in Houston an am home now, or I would go take the photos this afternoon. I recently learned of two burial sites in Stockdale Cemetery tha I really would like to hire someone to photograph for me. If anyone is willing, I will be happy to hire someone to photograph these two gravesites and the Historical marker at Stockdale Cemetery in Wilson Co. If you are willing to do this, please contact me at my home address. We can make arrangements there. Many thanks for any assistance you might provide. Keith Reed Arlington, Tx.

Poth is on 181 about 10 miles or so from Floresville. It is south of FLoresville and Stockdale is about 15 miles west of Floresville. There are a couple of small cafes in Poth but I couldn't tell you the names right off hand.
