My husband's great-grandfather, Christian RAU, came to America on the
Bremen Bark Ella. He arrived in New York on 2 Sep 1854 with his parents,
Christoph and Margaretha RAU. I have a copy of the passenger list with
the captain's name.
Does anyone know where I can find a picture of the "Ella" and/or any
information on the bark/ship?
Thank you for your help.

Does anyone have any info regarding a ship that arrived at Castle Garden on 10-29-1860. I believe this ship was named either the Senator J. Ken or Senator Iken.
Original port was Bremen. I believe this is when my ggrandmother Charlotte Bruns arrived in America.
Thanks
Joan

indexed in the arrivals at Boston, from Liverpool.
Her husband Charles Albert does not appear on the roster for the Batavia.
They are enumerated in the 1881 census for Yorkshire, so I presume Charles

There are British "inbound" lists, but they are not
indexed, nor microfilmed. The original inbound lists
reside at Kew.
All ships carrying passengers in or out of any British port
were required by law to deposit an official passenger list
with the relevant port authorities

Hi Joan,
Looks she came over as a servant girl. You might have to
go to the originals to find out who she came with.
If you search on "Senator Iken" you will find several websites

Hello,
I am searching for name of the ship that carried my great great grandfather from Germany to New York. In the 1900 Census, he lists that he arrived in1832 in the port of New York. He also lists being in America for 68 years and originally from Hesse Darmstadt. He was born, according to the census, was 1814. I also have other paperwork that lists his birthdate as 1814.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
