Would you be a relative of Johann (John) Friedrich Kruger?
Could you please help us find his relatives?

My great grandfather was Johann (John) Friedrich Kruger, born 16
Aug. 1847.
Birth place we have found on his census records are:
Posen or Preusen, Prussia and Praha (Prague) and Luxemburg. We wrote to Prague and they could not find any record of him. We haven't
found out exactly where he was from.

Hello:
Can someone please help me locate my Mary J. WATERSON who arrived in
America in 1884. She was born in Ireland in 1867. I don't know which
port she came in to. She lived in Detroit, Michigan from 1884. It does
not appear she became a U.S. citizen.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hello:
Can someone help me to locate my Richard H. THORNBOROUGH who arrived in
the U.S. in 1883 or 1884. He was discharged from the British Army in
October 1883 so it would be after that month. He probably left from
Southampton, England. He was unmarried and his age would be around
36-38 years old. He was born in England. I am afraid I don't know what
port he came in to. He lived in Detroit, Michigan from 1884 until his
death. He did not take out U.S. citizenship.
Thank you for any help you

Can anyone tell me if people detained at the Port of New York because they were in poor health would have received any sort of treatment, or were they simply quarantined in some sort of corral until they either improved, died, or were sent home? Was there any sort of hospital for these people located close to the Barge Office? My great-grandmother's name was really Sybrig Jongbloed Esther, but we have ascertained that she was listed as Mary Esther, Matron on the ship manifest for the Arizona, arriving at
I have been searching for my gr grandparents who came from England in 1873
and landed in New Orleans, according to the stories handed down. I have
been unsuccessful in finding in finding their names on any ship lists.
Would the ships coming to New Orleans have docked there, or elsewhere for
immigration purposes and then gone on to New Orleans? I am at my wits end,
have been trying to find this info for several years. Thanks for any help.
