I have an opportunity to visit the National Archives in Washington DC next week. All know about my g grandmother's immigration is that the 1910 census shows 1890 Russia. I know her maiden name & married name; I don't know where she was married. I do know she had family in Lipno. Where do I start to look for her immigration?

Hello,
I don't know if this is enough information but I was hoping to find out when and on which ship Orlando ECCLESTON travelled across from England to, I assume, Massachusetts. He was still in Lancashire, England in 1901 but is shown in the Massachusetts Census in Franklin County in 1910 (under the name Alander or Olander Eccleston). He is later shown to be working in Worcester in the 1918 Worcester, Massachusetts City Directory.
Any information or suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you!
Shelley
Hamburg, Germany Passenger List - 1872. This index is compiled from four microfilms of original Hamburg Passenger lists for the year 1872, including both the direct (traveling directly to the destination) and indirect (traveling by way of England or another port) lists.

posts. can' see why, I have any protocol that comes with Win XP.

Bill,
Start with her naturalization documents, if she was naturalized. Since you may not know if she naturlized, or she might not have naturalized, look for naturaliztaion records for anyone in her family (they will list everyone in the family who came over together). The naturalization records will tell you when and where she was born, and when and where she entered the US.
Prior to the 1920s, it was not uncommon for wives to NOT naturalize (they didn't have the vote or any rights yet).
