Looking for my great grandfather, William MARRIOTT (b. c1853 in England). I
believe he crossed in 1875 or 1876, but I'm not sure what his port of entry
was. He ended up in Ottawa, IL working in a bank in 1877, then moved to
Waverly, KS where he was married in 1879.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony Monaghan, age 18(born May 1860 Ireland)sailed to New York 1878
according to 1900 census. May have come with sisters Margaret &
Catherine Theresa and parents Patrick & Mary Kane Monaghan of Ireland.
Charles Richard Nelson, age 24-26, sailed from England to New York 1850
or 1860 (hard to read in 1900 census). Occupation Rigger/Sail Maker. May
have been with father, Robert Nelson and brothers/sisters names unknown.
Sofie/Sophia Knick Ritter, age 30, German, with 3 children (Frederinne
Dorothea/Doref,
Could some one please do a look up for me.
I have the ship date narrowed down to 1866 from census reading, it could be a year earlier?
They were from Prussia so ,Germany to New York.
The name is now known as OSMAN but on a tomb stone for one of them it is spelled OSSMAN.
I think the father was George OSSMAN but he might of died at sea that year.
His wife Elizabeth Catherine OSSMAN could go by either first name she would be about 50 years old.
Her children should be with her
